I played through Prince of Persia so many times, I could probably still speedrun it today.
Also didn't finish Arkanoid, Mega Man, or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Though I'm told it was actually impossible to finish TMNT anyway.
aaah, hard games with no save point or endless lives...those were the days
In PoP you get infinite respawns, at least, but that clock doesn't stop ticking down...
There was an END to arkanoid????
Think I only played two of those titles.
Prince of Persia I finished, of course!
Arkanoid, I never thought of completing it.
Let's not forget Riven, one game I couldn't finish, even with a walkthrough.

my point exactly
I played a couple in the list but the only one I was able to finish was Silent Hill. I used a walkthrough for certain parts back in the day though.
I'll be honest, coz I was rather little for PoP, my brother had the cheats on, so you press + (or spacebar or something) to increase the time. that way i could slowly make my way through the levels. I always wanted to know, but I never found out what happens if. Does game end? is time no longer an issue?Spoiler: showthe timer runs out right AFTER you kill the main sultan bad guy
Honorary mention to loom. that game was tricky to complete, you def needed pen and paper (at my age anyway, who can memorize patterns)
Otherwise we didn't have any consoles so only the PC titles i recognize. CALGAMES!

Certain games almost always ended with a rage quit...
Battletoads was one of them
