Project Cars

@4K Maxed out this game murders my pc, runs around 25fps..lol (Incredibly detailed game...) (Titan X Running 1303 Boost + 2Ghz mem)
@4K Nvidia Game Experience settings it runs at around 60 fps while still looking fantastic.

The car sounds are insane...and I had my volume turned up just to listen to the Pagani Zonda going through tunnels.

Mclaren P1 is FUCKING difficult to drive at full tilt and I can def see myself having to spend an extended amount of time with it before being comfortable with it.

Ford Focus RS500 (Think that's the model) is piss easy to drive and made me look like a rockstar.

I would have to spend a considerable amount of time on the game to give my full opinion on it.

What I will say, Graphically @4k Maxed settings its pretty much unbeatable, although the colors are a bit...Mmmm Bright..Not natural.
Graphics options are so detailed that its almost intimidating to use and setup.
Games menu is a bit all over the place with hundreds of options..lol
The engine sounds are just...melt your mind amazing (I could spend hours just listening to the cars)
The track list is vast and you would have to spend hundreds if not close to a thousand hours just to master them all.
I'm fairly good at racing sim/games and some of the cars just took me for a ride and made me their bitch...lol

Comparing it to Assetto Corsa...I think that Project cars is by far the more complete package, visually I think Project cars is better looking but not by miles and I have to say that Assetto Corsa def has a better/real color palette.

Early impressions:

Graphics 9/10
Car Control/Car feel 9/10
Audio 9.5/10
Car list 5/10 (The list of cars isn't great if I'm honest)
Track list 10/10 (Easily the best track list I've ever seen)

Thanks for feedback, appreciated. One of my more concerning points as you're aware, the comparison to AC in terms of authenticity.

I'll tend to agree, I don't exactly play AC for it's career mode :p
But I still believe AC may still have the upper hand in immersion and authenticity in the way the car handles, feels and sounds as a complete package. And I agree with you whole heatedly that the colors in PrC are a bit too saturated.

Was looking forward to getting going this evening. Then saw this:

Assume those in control of my areas' switch will flick it off after giving us notice 5 minutes beforehand. Thanks Eskom.

The eurogamer reviewer states that project cars physics model is not full simulation but it has a really good tyre model. He also stated that even gt has a more complex driving feel.I have yet to play it but it does look and sound awesome.I really am tempted to just pre order it at btgames and get it on ps4.

Like i said in the beginning this game is going to be a real showpiece and with them working on constant content and community feedback i think where points of concern are they will still improve on it

Finally managed to race on my own dedicated server :D

Just wish they implemented the dedicated servers to be visible in the browser, but it will be added eventually. At this stage you have to join via the "Set Launch Options" button.

How to join my dedicated server:

1) Right-click Project CARS in your Steam library, select "Properties"
2) Then click on the "Set Launch Options" button.
3) Add the following in the available dialog box (you need to copy and paste the entire string as is):

-searchds "StoneCold's pCARS DServer |ZA|"

4) Click OK
5) Launch the game
6) Whenever you create a session now, it will search for the dedicated server and create your session on it instead of creating the default P2P session.
7) Other people in the browser will see session listed as the dedicated server name (unless you change the lobby name,
so I suggest to leave it blank when setting your session options)
8) Once you create session, it will then search and connect to the dedicated server and advertise it in the lobby for others to see :)

And that's it!

Anyone is welcome to create their own sessions on the server for their enjoyment :)

PS: The server supports a maximum of 64 players, which means multiple sessions can be created until all 64 slots are filled.

Are you saying this will be running as a dedicated server for us to use 24/7?

Yes, that's correct :)

Along with stonecold's help i will also be hosting a dedicated server and we are trying to see if we can do it on our afrihost hosting service so will keep you guys updated on this

I know there's a truck load of options and settings and took me close on two hours to get my config set up nicely. One thing I do despise though is the blurring while in Helmet Cam (headcam), has anyone found an option to disable this?

Got my copy! :D

This game is awesome so far. Although the load times is a bit too long but not much of an issue.

The menu system can be confusing as the are so much options presented to you all at once.

Game play - amazing!
Controls - quite responsive.
Car handling - superb
Visuals and graphics - Shew!
