Microsoft unveils the various editions of Windows 10
How many of you are planning on making the jump to Windows 10?

My PC seriously needs a Windows reinstall, however I am waiting for Windows10 to see if it will be worthwhile or not, because if it is I will just upgrade to that. Otherwise I might move to Windows 8.1 instead.
SO why not just buy windows 7 and just upgrade to 10 for free? Surely it will be cheaper?
What's the pricing on Windows 10? Has it been released yet because I haven't seen any pricing?
I've also read volume licensing doesn't get the free upgrade... Not that I want to put it on all the work PCs any time soon. People are barely getting the hang of Windows 7 after upgrading from XP 3 or 4 years ago...
Uhm...free upgrade to Win7 and Win8 users![]()
I'm quite fortunate in that 80% of our users are on 8.1 already, so the jump to 10 will be less traumatic
Didn't Microsoft state somewhere along the line that Windows 10 will also be a free upgrade to those that have pirated copies of Windows? Meaning you don't have to purchase any Windows at all. Not sure where I read this though.
Yeah I also read that a while back.

What are MS's business case though? How are they planning on making money on this Windows if they offer it for free? Will the Enterprise editions not be free for example? I'm curious about this.
