Agree to a point with [MENTION=4071]BeoTeK[/MENTION] too - the 5 new cars are similar to many already in the game. But, Beo, what would you like to see it terms of "a bit more diversity"?
 
My main concern is that there is too much of the same class... being GT3, GT4, LM1, LM2, etc.
Where are all the other classes, mainly in the Touring category. The touring cars the likes of; VW, Chevrolet, BMW, Volvo, SEAT, Honda, Peugeot, etc. Things in the different categories of British Touring, World Touring.

Sure there is the Mercedes DTM, of which there is one DTM class. There is the Mercedes and BMW in the same class, which is two cars. There there's the Clio Cup car, another one! There is still so much more than can be added.

Ahh okay, I get what you're saying. And fully agree. The potential scope and variety available is huge, and as you say, pretty untapped. I'd love to see something like the Aussie V8 series, circuits and cars in the game. And judging by the 100s of "what cars/tracks would you like to see in the game" posts over on the official forums, you're clearly not alone in your thoughts.

I wonder what the licensing costs are like? And how much of that potential we'll never see in pCars because the EAs and MSs of the world hold long term contracts with the manufacturers.
 
I think this game is gonna grow into a monster and ass they work to get more licenses and cars we will become more happy. I also hear they are working on some controller and handling tweaking for the next patch.

for now here are some controller and wheel configs

My Recommended Settings
This is by no means the final settings, I will change things as I see fit and I encourage that you do the same to get the feeling you are after, this should at least provide a reasonable starting point at the very least.

These settings were made for controllers/gamepads, I have no idea if this works or not for wheels.

Steering dead zone: 0
Steering Sensitivity: 30

Throttle dead zone: 0
Throttle Sensitivity: 50

Brake dead zone: 0
Brake Sensitivity: 30

Clutch dead zone: 0
Clutch Sensitivity: 45

Speed Sensitivity: 75
Controller Filtering: 50

Force Feedback: 100
Advanced: Off

Second set

Steering Deadzone = 0
Steering Sensitivity= 0
Throttle Deadzone= 0
Throttle Sensitivity= 50
Brake Deadzone= 0
Brake Sensitivity= 50
Clutch Deadzone= 0
Clutch sensitivity= 45

Speed Sensitivity= 75
Controller Filtering sensitivity= 50

Force feedback= 100
Rpm gear Display= Yes
Controller input= 3

The way I understand it is that "Feature Updates" will be free for the remainder of this year. Presumably any new feature updates - whatever they are? - will then go into PCars 2.
On the left of that are the Free things - a monthly "Free Car" for a couple of months, and a couple of "Free Liveries". On the right are the paid DLC packs: "Car Packs" and "Track Expansion" packs.
The first 2 car packs came at launch as part of pre-order and deluxe bonuses, the 3rd is the one just released.
 
Some more settings for you guys i hope something i post here helps any of you a bit

SET MODE 3 FIRST!!!

Steering Deadzone - 20% (can decrease this if you have a new 'stiff' pad, or increase if more worn)
Steering Sensitivity - 5% (increase if it feels to numb)
Throttle Deadzone - 10%
Throttle Sensitivity - 10%
Braking Deadzone - 10%
Braking Sensitivity - 10%
Clutch Deadzone - 5%
Clutch Sensitivity - 45%
Speed Sensitivity - 75% (changing this affects how much steering ratio you get as the speed increases)
Controller Filtering Sensitivity - 25% (increase this to smooth out the inputs more)
Force Feedback - 0-100 (Pretty much up to the individual)
Mode - 3
Advanced options - On
Soft Steering Dampening - On
Visual Wheel Filtering - On
Opposite Lock Help - Off

DC does have a really nice action orientated arcadey camera system (not sure if it will suit a sim like pcars)

and DC does have alot of background effects running, smoke, flares etc, Pcars does have the higher polycount and detail on their car models though.

I played DC the other day and while it is very pretty, that 30 fps really hurts the feel of driving.

Oh man... Driveclub is the shiz for an arcade like racer. It beats PrC hands done in the rain and water effects department, the best I've seen in any game! I always race internal views. External feels a bit disconnected to me. But DC also does a kick as job at vehicle sounds. They've used something like 26 (or so) mics in and around the car, like inside the exhausts and their positional audio is also brilliant.
 
Managed to get half an hour online last night, spent most of it looking at the new cars in the DLC. Tried a couple of laps in the new Community Event with the Bentley Speed 8 on a Road America. Failed dismally to get a valid lap on the board. It's a monstrous thing.

All the new cars are track monster but that Mercedes Clk Lm has to be the hardest of the lot, even off the line under hard acceleration it just wants to spin out....Awesome car though!!
 
I'll try out the new cars on friday seeing as we will have loadshitting again tonight from 20:00 to 22:30 and that's when i hit the sack when i'm on dayshift. but man those cars look beautiful. Wonder what the next free car is going to be.
 
There is a new logitek wheel launching in october it is the G29 it is compatible with ps4,xbone and pc there is just one problem it is gonna cost mega bucks:(.
 
For the guys that like trolling people.

Get a mate over and set a lap time in the Lotus 98T, then when it's his turn just go into the setup menu and change the wastegate boost from 4.7 to 6 bar :D and prepare to laugh your ass off :D
