yeah it's like I told Curt now. if you want an media center, buy a media or bluray player. consoles are for gaming and the PS4 does that amazingly well cause they aren't trying to be a jack-of-all-trades

The XBox One UI is changing in the next couple of months. Which adds another plus. It will be running the Windows 10 base that will add DirectX 12 and universal apps.

Also how on earth can you call the XBox One a media player? It's first and foremost a game console. Your comment is a typical fanboy comment. :(

A PC is a jack of all trades. Does that make it worse than a PS4 for gaming?

A Raspberry Pi 2 B+ would be better option as media player from testing my fathers I was able to get media with a 50Mb/s bitrate to play reasonably well at 29.95 fps.

[MENTION=2226]InSanity[/MENTION] - When I had both consoles there were times that one or the other sat dormant for a week or three.

In my honest opinion, get whichever you see fit in terms of the console exclusives you would prefer to play/get. Make your decision based on the exclusive games. Don't let yourself get too hung up on the technicality of the PS4 being able to put out 3 more fps and be a higher res. Bottom line, they each perform great and deliver a good gaming medium to deliver entertainment.

I think [MENTION=20]Solitude[/MENTION] can confess as to how vividly/highly I spoke of it when I had sold the Xbone to him.

I am a fan of both. There are some things that each console does better than the other. Get used to it, but don't get hung up by it.

I've got the PS4 and I love it, but I have never owners an Xbone so I couldn't give a fare opinion.

As said before, honestly the only thing to do is look at the exclusive games and see what you prefer.
 
the thing is most exclusive coming out in future are timed exclusives theres very few actual exclusives but im still very torn i think im leaning towards the ps4 but only because majority of my friends have that one and because [MENTION=5134]MalicE[/MENTION] threatened me but i really dont know i think its going to come down to which one has a better special

Alternatively, have you thought of going through FNB?
 
At the end of the week every week MyGaming has that Deals of the weekend article. Wait for an awesome special and pounce on it. :)
 
I have to agree with the statement on if u owned the previous Gen then get the upgrade of that... Im assuming you play online? If so you lose all your online mates, not that you wont make more, and its pretty easy to grow your friends list, especially with this place...

Bearing that in mind i have the PS4 and I must say its a great system... But i have had the PS 1-2-3-4... I cant stand the X-1 control... But i do GREATLY prefer the X Box UI to the PS "ribbon"

The PS4 is in my opinion, there when it comes to the media player, Iv had no issues with it... But i prefer to have a PC connected directly to the TV so this doesnt really matter for me.

Also the main thing you should take from this thread is how many guys have stressed that your choice should be based on Exclusives... For me I couldnt NOT play The Last of Us... Final Fantasy for years was a Play station exclusive, right up until XIII if im not mistaken... (and PC obvs...) But games like BloodBorne, (havent started yet) Uncharted, KillZone, Infamous, etc etc... These games made the decision for me... And i was seriously considering the X-1 because I have friends who play on X-1...

You wont regret either purchase though... They are both fantastic machines... :cool:

I think that's a good price.
