Dammit, guys, now I'm sitting at work, missing my dogs.![]()
He needs some socialising then, I would definately take him for some agility classes if I were you. It will help him a lot.
Ja, I did that often last year, and the year before, but now I've got a 1h20 commute, so that's not really an option.. Never mind the fact that I didn't get to take lunch today![]()
Since we are on the advise thread.
So got two cats aswell.
The older one is trained well but the other one im struggling.
Right so the problem is, the older one I can get him to sit, put his food infront of him, ask him to say please, then he gives me his paw, no problems.
The youngest, knows the sitting like immediately but the please part, he just keeps shoving his face in my hand, no matter how much i ask for the paw, the little sh*t just keeps giving me his face and this is after a year of training.
Any advise? Never struggled with training like this before.
Then also on a side question, they are indoor cats(Take them on walks so they get exercise, and plenty of toys around that they will annoy you with their toy bells at 1am.), they vomit atleast once a week, fortunately its on the only rug we got, but geez I'm outta options, tried changing pellets and meats. Also note they are munching grass whenever I take them for walks.

Thanks, ill inspect the label better. Could be a ingredient that might upset one of them.Unfortunately I have no idea how to train a cat - I have never done that.
As for the vomiting issue - they tend to eat grass when they have something they are struggling to digest - dogs do the same thing. So I would suggest go thru the food labels in detail and see what could be causing the issues - they might have allergies or have developed allergies to something in the food or if its a low quality food - which i doubt since most of the foods in our markets are not that bad.
Lulz.... can explain the wierd stares when the cat is on a leash taking a walk.

do you give them milk?many people dont know that most cats are actually allergic to milk and this could be a cause of them throwing up as well.Since we are on the advise thread.

I can bloody imagine. though I wish I could take mine for walks like that
as for the vomiting, mine used to do that as well. I noticed that they vomit up whole pellets, so I started feeding them less and split that into 2 potions (35g in the morning, 35g in the afternoon, each) and it basically stopped. seems the little bastards are like goldfish and will just keep eating till the bowl is empty and then puke it out again cause they overate.
I have read that eating grass is a normal instinct for cats which could apparently be partly the reason also why mine chews cable...
Some cats overeat and throw up, my cats do it if i feed them a lil late. Also your new cat may just be more affectionate, maybe he sees giving love as the payment for food?
Get a slow feeder for your cats it will make them eat slower and they will know when they are full.

also my younger cat has no manners what soever and just does what she wants. she is untrainable i have decided.
i have also found that if the cats eat to much to quickly they throw up so they have their dry food for the day and at night they get wet food but i dont give them a whole Pouch at once anymore. they just get two teaspoons each at a time. so if they still want more they have to ask and i will give them some more.

Lois is also like a lawnmower hence the trowing up, she also doesnt like the jelly kind pouches and prefers the saucy ones and will lick all the sauce before eating the soft food. both like fancy feast but they only get it on their birthdays as treats.Hmmmm.Very valid point you have there. We usually fill their bowls up every morning. But cat's logic = https://assets.rbl.ms/740087/980x.jpg bowl is empty feed me.
OK sweet, just really strange seeing cats behaving like dogs, but guess they are similar in some area's.
Starting to think that is the case.
Lulz, that would be essential, however Im not spending a Grand on a device my cat seldom uses, just like the water fountain we got 10L of water, but the bast*rds always wants running water from taps.
Na, stopped after 6 months with both of them, couldn't handle gold mining and finding smelted Sh*t, prefer minning for proper solids.- luckily i dont have to deal with this as mine prefer to do their business outside and only ever use the litter tray when its been raining for a couple of days. i live in a kitty friendly complex so they can entertain themselves outside. they were meant to be indoor cats bat the eldest goes into batshit crazy mode if she cant go outside. the little one has now learnt this form the older one
What are you trying to train the youngest to do? to not be on the kitchen counter past the microwave and to not want to sit on my neck while i cook
I'm still amazed at my one friend(Though i shouldnt be considering she is an animal behaviour specialist) , she has her cat playing fetch. Something im working on. i have two Siamese and they both started out playing fetch but have gotten so spoiled now that they dont bring their toys back anymore. they do bring it to you when they want to play. they come running when i call them in the evenings when i get home if they arent home.
Concerning the wet food, are you giving them?
Purina food? My older cat totally loves their minse setup. the eldest (Lumen) likes Whiskas more and also the lamb and chicken varients and the youngest Lois-Lane likes Friskies pouches mostly the fish ones.
or
Fancy Feast? - cause this is extremely rich food I noticed, the youngest isnt a connoisseur of foods, just a lawn mower. The oldest however is a true connoisseur, will lick the Jelly first then have a bite then eat more Jelly, then leave some for latter.

Would if i could, but wouldn't torture a dog in such a small garden.Get a dog, problem solved!
There is something special about having a cat dude.
