I wonder if they've changed that then. I distinctly remember losing connection somewhere in space let's say supercruising, and when I logged in again I was docked in the station.

Yeah, the bounties stick with you until you die. I actually just meant that the quest timers keep on running even if you've logged out.

Somewhere between wings and powerplay. I stopped playing because of annoying supercruise FPS drop that forced me into playing solo when I didn't necessarily want to and I've been waiting for a definite confirmation that the issue has been fixed before trying it out again. Unfortunately I've received many messages that the issue has been fixed and shortly thereafter new people complaining about it again etc.

Yeah, I lot has been reworked since 1.2 or was it 1.3.

Anywho, you should really give it another go. I've been thoroughly enjoying every minute of it. And as you know, I too have had it since launch in 2014.

Since Horizons, I'm sitting on around 80 hours.

I only get a slight visible frame drop when jumping between systems. but apparently that's normal

It is in the queue to be played again at some point. Will have to synchronize it with my wingman though :)

I think you just had some bad luck. Its always kept your current location when you log out. Deep space exploration would be a pain otherwise.

Do you have an AMD gpu?
 
Bounties is the best and easiest way to make money. Find a system with normal resource extraction point. Get in it, wait for cops to shoot stuff, you start shooting the cops targets, score.

There is a neat trick too: each res point has 3 wave types: small ships, large ships and large+small ships. Every time you log out and in, it clears the "instance" and resets to one of those 3. Do this until you find the big ship spawn, shoot cop targets, dont get too close and get 100K or so per kill. Its also good fun with buddies.

yeah last night I made 650k in about 30min or so, before joining the wing. After joining I made maybe 300k for the rest of the evening.
that bounty splitting is bullshit!

Making good money on mining while I am working. Last night I filled my mining ship with equal shares of Osmium, Painite and Platinum, nothing else. This morning I log in and out of open/solo/group while in station and refresh the mineral missions and hand those 3 in. I make about 4 mil a run. Nice thing is I can do it in between work.

Not best price, just to get the actual mineral missions as they refresh random.

Not cheating if it is a feature in game to log in and out to refresh missions.
 
Thanks for the feedback guys. Whats your thoughts on the steam reviews...they've put me off quite a bit, but I wanna know your side of things :)

Is it really a feature or is it weakness that can be exploited? If they wanted you to do that why wouldn't they just make the missions always available, or add a button to randomize the missions?

I think they're mostly just whiny little bitches. the only major gripe I have with the game is their ridiculous pricing model

nooooo cause it also requires a bit of luck. you have to hold thumbs you get a mission requiring the resource you have in your cargo hold
 
Ok noted. Also...if I buy a ship, and someone blows me up or I crash into a planet...what happens. Do I respawn somewhere with/without my ship? is life over, start again? Is there some kind of xp/skills/traits system in place, or is progress solely based on money earned and ship bought with said money?
