Just how "multiplayer" is this game ? I'm guessing not on the scale of EVE?

Is there one giant server and you see people in real time ?

Nowhere near the scale of Eve in terms of people driven content. Many people play on private group "server" instances as well.

So after a week of grinding for a Clipper, the harsh truth is the Clipper is really not a nice ship at all. :(

Back to my Python on Monday, I guess.

Yeah, on paper everything looks great. It's fast and it's big, so it's great for pulling traders out of supercruise and anything slower than a Cobra MKIII will struggle to outrun you, but the weapons placements are just so weird. You're pretty much forced to use gimballed weapons on it. I was also shocked how fragile it felt in a fight.

I was hoping it would be a nice PVP ship, but it seems more suited to a support role. A great ship for pulling people out of supercruise and making it hard for them to get away while the rest of your wing drops in to take them down.

I'll be honest, I don't even know what it is. I'll probably give it a go this week. Maybe. Depending on how good Dragon's Dogma is.

As far as I can tell it's their dedicated PvP mode. Get given a ship and go kill people...

But if you gonna start Dragons Dogma you won't get much time for anything else. [emoji14]

So I went on a short walkabout yesterday (438Ly)

E: D's planets and suns are still beautiful to see. One of the few games that I've wasted a bunch of time in just looking at stuff for no other reason than being able to go "wow" now and then.

yup!

You can't really tell from the scape of the shot, but the two suns in the first pic are a mere 5Ls apart

Just thought I'd share these screenshots i took of eclipses/partial eclipses. The game just has this way of awing you sometimes.

This is why I love ED so much.

Took me about 30 minutes of driving in my SRV to get this, one refuel later and about 60% hull damage.

Then only to come across this one...

The thing that's always bugged me about ED's universe is that its too "neat and tidy". I blame procedural generation for that. It needs more random elements to it.

Btw has anyone encountered a Pulsar?

Kind of in agreement with this. Though the game is stunning, and I will defend it. There are a few anomalies I think it could do with, like shooting stars, comets or asteroids. Why are these not seen?

And no, no Pulsar has been seen by myself. Though black holes are hulla dangerous!

More nebulae and just random asteroids wouldn't hurt either. Ok maybe it would if you crash into them.

Stuff like this amazes me. Neutron Star with rings.

Has anyone needed to refuel their SRV while out venturing, or even their ship? What do you make of the "crafting" system?
