I have a shortish list of things that annoy me, but something that recently happened just got me thinking.
When you fill up your car, do you ask the "petroleum consultant" to check your oil, water and tyres? Now you don't need to have matric to know that the engine oil needs to be in a certain range.

Also your coolant (water and anti-freeze) should be in a certain range

Anyways, I normally check these things myself because I just don't trust anyone else to do it. But for some odd reason I asked the petroleum consultant to check it. He promptly proceeded to open the coolant reservoir and just chucked water in there. No checking, just opened it and chucked water in there. Needless to say he overfilled it, luckily I could stop him almost immediately.
Fortunately car manufacturers protect against this with the reserve overflow, but still.
So I get home that evening and decide to check my tyre pressure with a digital pressure monitor. All four tyres were under inflated, not by much, but not nearly by what it should have been. So I put it down to a valve leak or faulty equipment. Inflated the tyres to the correct pressure and checked it the next morning. No change in the recorded pressure.

Then there we have people who have no idea how chip cards work and insist on asking me if it's a Saving or Debit Card.
No, the card only has the work "CREDIT" written on it for shits and giggles.
Also, shoving the card into the machine as hard as you can will not make it read the chip any better or faster. Bending the card while shoving it in will not make it go in any deeper.
