Things that annoy me...

I have a shortish list of things that annoy me, but something that recently happened just got me thinking.

When you fill up your car, do you ask the "petroleum consultant" to check your oil, water and tyres? Now you don't need to have matric to know that the engine oil needs to be in a certain range.

Also your coolant (water and anti-freeze) should be in a certain range

Anyways, I normally check these things myself because I just don't trust anyone else to do it. But for some odd reason I asked the petroleum consultant to check it. He promptly proceeded to open the coolant reservoir and just chucked water in there. No checking, just opened it and chucked water in there. Needless to say he overfilled it, luckily I could stop him almost immediately.

Fortunately car manufacturers protect against this with the reserve overflow, but still.

So I get home that evening and decide to check my tyre pressure with a digital pressure monitor. All four tyres were under inflated, not by much, but not nearly by what it should have been. So I put it down to a valve leak or faulty equipment. Inflated the tyres to the correct pressure and checked it the next morning. No change in the recorded pressure.

Then there we have people who have no idea how chip cards work and insist on asking me if it's a Saving or Debit Card.

No, the card only has the work "CREDIT" written on it for shits and giggles.

Also, shoving the card into the machine as hard as you can will not make it read the chip any better or faster. Bending the card while shoving it in will not make it go in any deeper.

The first thing that came to my mind when I saw this thread was people driving inconsistent speeds. It drives me nuts!

I'll have my car on cruise control, doing just a smidge below 130 km/h. Driving on the freeway and I pass a car, then 5 minutes later that same car is sitting on my tail and wants to pass . Then after another 10 minutes he will be in the left lane and I pass him again, all while maintaining my same speed.
This will sometimes happen over and over, to the point where I get so frustrated (I know it shouldn't, but it just ticks me off) that I will pick up speed to 150 or so for several minutes just to get away from said car before dropping my speed again.

I think this is the thing that annoys me the most, although crappy driving in general pisses me off. Not using an indicator, driving 80 in the fast lane, driving without lights in heavy rain).

I was going to bitch about morning people (being cheery AF in the morning), but your essay was far more interesting.

The passive-aggresive sarcasm was the cherry. :D

Aah yes, annoying drivers... I see that every day. Mostly it seems like people just don't pay attention or plan ahead. You're taking the offramp on the left, signs have been showing that the offramp is coming up for the last 5km, yet your're still surprised that the offramp appeared and have to now cut across 3 lanes, over a solid white line and a painted island to get onto the offramp.

Or the "Oh there's a line of cars waiting in the only turn lane waiting to turn off, so I'll drive in the other lane so I can cut in at the front of the queue of cars instead of just joining the queue" assholes.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Speed does not kill, people who can't drive do.

When CT Northern Suburbs people complain that they can't go to something in the Southern Suburbs cause it to far and vice versa.

The same people who can't go to Claremont because it's too far, but will happily go to Stellenbosch (incidentally the same distance)

Oh yeah, also when my wife had my wallet and put my cards back into their pockets either upside down, or back to front.

Now she knows this drives me crazy so she does it on purpose.

One thing to remember, not everyone has cruise control. So passing/being passed by the same guy every 5-10 minutes is not all that big a deal for me. What does cheese me off is when driving withcruise control on (I don't on my current car, but previous ones this has happened) down the highway, changing lanes to pass someone. While you are passing them, they speed up until they're in front. I pull back into the other lane behind him. He slows down, I change lanes. Rinse, repeat.

I am one of those who dont mind going to the southern areas - I have a different reason for not liking to go there, I get hopelessly lost, I have been driven off the road twice - into other cars thanks to the fucking narrow roads - so excuse me for not going there often. I hate the entitlement a lot of the southern suburb people have, aka Im better than you attitude. Plus I have a comfort zone, if given a choice - I will not leave the house. Unfortunately its frowned apon, so if I dont want to go out and be social these days I just say so, I dont give a damn if you are happy with me or not. I do what makes me happy. I have a list a mile long of shyte that drives me insane.

I have just stopped pretending to be something I am not. . . .

My other car does not have cruise control but I still maintain my speed; perhaps it is a case of attention to your speed and surroundings. I check my mirrors every so often for anything coming from behind, check my speed, monitor the cars around my for any signs of imminent idiocy; rinse and repeat.

Everyone probably doesn't pay as close attention to their speed and try and maintain it, they only look at their speed once every now and then, who knows.

Things that annoy me are when people insist on helping with the dishes and then do half a job. example they just wash the side of the plate where the food was not the bottom.

or overloading a washing machine. just cause it says it can do 9kg's of washing it does not mean stuff everything you own to have it wash in one go just cause your to lazy to do more than 1 load. your clothes will get wet but wont be clean. i constantly have to throw things back into the was cause they are not clean!

also using the cloth or sponge you use to clean the dishes to wipe stuff off of the the floor! NO just NO! you use a separate cloth for cleaning the floor!

oh and another thing that grates me is the fact that we have lots of water bottles in our Fridge so we have cold water all the time. when your done drinking from the bottle dont just fill it up and put it back in the fridge, NO wash the damn thing first! i dont want you koodies or lip ice etc!!!!

I check my RPM, not my speed. Partially for mileage, partly because my dashboard has a stupid layout. I actually have to take my eyes off the road to see my speed. And mirror checks all the time. I've had someone reverse into me in a parking lot because they didn't look in their mirror backing out of their spot. No shoulder check either. Nothing...

Paying attention while on the road... Something I see a huge lack of especially when driving on my bike... Scary really.
I few years back, a guy actually cut a corner at a T junction where I was standing still on my bike. Wrote my bike off while I was going 0 km/h. His excuse.. Sorry I did not see you on the Lime Green massive motorcycle with brights on during the day! =D

first thign that came to mind is when im on teamspeak and i hear someone eating it drives me absolutely bonkers

I don't like sudden loud noises. I also don't like it if someone stands too close to me. If I move back then don't move closer. Stay out of my bubble.

I'm also with Blazzok. I too drive with cruise control and people who vary their speeds make for some annoying driving.

If I say no for anything then it means no. Don't try and force me into something that I don't want to do.

Taxis. Taxis annoy me to no end. it sometimes take a lot of effort to not ram them off the road.

The thing that annoys me the most is when people play loud music in the middle of the night when one tries to sleep. It drives me nuts. Especially bass.

Getting recorded sales calls on my cellphone. The ones where humans call are bad enough. These ones send me over the edge.

What really pisses me off when driving is when the driver in the fast lane is driving the same speed as the driver in the slow lane next to them and there is no way around or passed them.

That makes me yell bad words

I hate the way they act, their childishness, their annoying way of bugging you whilst you are busy, their constant need for attention and acceptance, their inability to follow what their parents ask of them, basically the whole fact that they are children annoy me.

Yes I know that the way they are, and act is not necessarily their fault, but the mere presence of a child within my hearing, and/or sight makes my blood boil.
