ok so I kinda have an idea of what the problem is but there's no harm in getting more opinions
So I got a "new" GPU. A Radeon HD 7870 XT.
I put it in and nothing happens. Monitor does not get a signal from the card
I updated the mobo bios and more stuff broke. Like now windows won't recognise my wifi dongle so I lost the internet as well now. and it takes forever to boot up now. but that's a separate issue. my main problem is the GPU
Any thoughts?
Boot into "I broke something" mode aka Safe Mode, go to device manager. Click on View -> Show hidden devices
Expand "Display Adapters", right click on every item under Display Adapters and click uninstall. Then install the proper drivers for the Radeon and reboot the system.
If that doesnt work, please check the manufacturer (e.g. Sapphire) website for a Graphics Card BIOS update, download this and install it. Reboot and try again.
YDI for using AMD though, but I'll still help you
