Demon's Souls PS3

Well done!!!! Awesome review and very well writen :D
I would have given it a 98% though (no game can be perfect), since this is now my number 1 game of all time :p. I simply cannot stop playing it.

I agree...I am still having a hard time on New Game+....wow...it is hard...Trying to play it on Black World and Character Tendency...but it's hard to get it that way...

I know what you mean dude, new game + is INSANE. I can't seem to get any further, I just keep dying and dying. Will probably do some farming to get my character a bit stronger before attempting another boss battle.

I noticed things are quiet on the DS front. I've been jamming all weekend and beat the Red Dragon in 1-2 as well as the Tower Knight in 1-2. Then Killed That armored spider in what i think is 2-1 as well as the 4-1 Boss. Managed to boost my Soul level from about 30 to 40. It now costs me 10K souls to up my stats by a single point.

When I killed the 4-1 second boss, I had amost 70K souls.

Thought I would bring the thread back so we can chat about it, maybe give each other times. That is if there is anybody except me still loving this game.

I will always be loving this game :p It is currently sitting at my no. 2 most favourite game of all time. I haven't played it in a while though, think my main character is soul level 216 or something on playthrough 2 (I will admit, I haxed him a wee bit), just have worlds 3 and 5 left for second finish. Got two other characters as well, one is soul level 26 I think and the other somewhere in the soul level 40 range if I'm not mistaken. The last time I played some asshole black phantom broke into my world and backstabbed me like 2min away from the boss, got so pissed off that I haven't touch the game since, think it might be time to give it a go again ...

Your revival of the DS thread might have lead to the revival of my DS game :p

I play offline for a reason... Was thinking of trying to go co-op with Spooner to help him level a bit.

Playing offline is all fine and dandy, but sometimes I need to summon people to help me (especially in playthrough 2 and, I imagine, all consecutive playthroughs) or let someone summon me so I can level up a bit. I actually don't mind black phantoms all that much, it's when they resort to sissy tacticts (i.e. backstabbing me when I can't see them) that I get pissed off. I don't mind losing a fight to a black phantom since you don't really lose your souls as such, you just have to make your way back to the bloodstain - same as when you die offline.

I did have a pretty awesome online experience with a black phantom a while ago, posted about it in another forum. Will just copy and paste it here.

I just had the best online experience ever in Demon's Souls (Asian version). I started a new character (Royal), took care of the Phalanx and Tower Knight and then made my way to Stonefang Tunnel. I wasn't there for 3 minutes when I saw the message that a black phantom had broken into my world, I can't remember his name, but I'm pretty sure it was a Japanese guy. He came right at me with a Scraping Spear and within a couple of strikes he had broken both my weapon and my armour. I tried as best as I could to fight him with my Soul Arrow and Flamethrower, but everytime I got him close to death he just took a bite of some Moon Grass and kept fighting. Luckily I was also able to stay alive with the repeated eating of Moon Grass and able to fight back with my supplies of Spice.

Eventually I ran out of Spice and Mana and I just stood still and bowed. He walked right up to me, bowed and then did a "Hurrah!". He turned around and starting heading into the level killing everything in his path, except me. I followed him as close as I could and tried to do my best to get some hits in, but he did most of the killing. Often times I lost track of him as I was heading to the Armoured Spider, only to discover he is trying to show me where all the pickups in the level is. We explored every nook and cranny of Stonefang Tunnel and he showed me where everything in the level was and waited for me to loot it all. When we finally made it to Armoured Spider's Fog Gate, he bowed and dropped 30 Half Moon Grass and 20 Fresh Spice for me. I bowed and he left my world.

It was so AWESOME!!!

That is an awesome experience.

Did you guys see the announcement for Project Dark at TGS? It's basically Demon's Souls 2 with a different name and it's coming out on X360 as well. While it sucks a bit that the PS3 has "lost" an exclusive I am happy that X360 owners will finally get to play this amazing game, even though it's the "spiritual successor" and not the first game.

I did see it and its very exciting. I personally hope the make the co-op a bit more forgiving. I would like the ability to party up with specific players not some random person off the net. Other than that keep it as it is. I love it.

Yeah, but the fact that you play with randoms adds a bit to the atmosphere. Also really missed voice chat when playing co-op, but that would have just ruined the atmosphere IMO.
