Comic Books

It begins with seemingly random people getting a suitcase from a stranger that contains 100 untraceable bullets, a gun and firm evidence of the person who "destroyed" their life. It's up to the person who gets the case what to do with the bullets (but the hope is that they will kill the person of course). It gets really conspiracy theory mid way though, but it never loses the plot. It also has one of the most awesome endings I have ever seen in any literature.

wow ok orsome sounds like a good comic :) i'll be sure to look out for it... how many issues of it are there????

erm... 100... :)

Rather than buying the comics, buy the collections (4-6 comics in one). If you missed the boat, it's going to be blerry difficult collecting them in single issue format dude. Unless you a pro collector that is :)

oooh i see ok yeh im not like a major comic collector but i do enjoy my comics :)

Yeah, I know what you mean. I usually just buy the hardcovers with 4-6 issues in them for the price. Still have glossy pages so... :o

That said, if I could buy the comics regularly I would. Only certain ones though.

Believe it or not...I'm actually busy helping a mate write a graphic novel :)

It's called The Purifier (working title)...

I'm doing all the dialog and he is doing the art work...think it's gonna be an awesome experience.

Wanna know what it's about? seeing as though I trust people on the internet, ill just give away my story :p

Well, basically, when Lucifer created the 4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse, he created a 5th Son of Satan as well...Wrath. Wrath served the dark lord with relentless virtue, and stuck true to his dark ways, knowing his place next to his fathers side...as a ruler of hell. However, the 4 Horsemen grew weary of their place. The wanted to conquer man and take their rightful place on earth as rulers. Bringing forth death and pain.

So they murdered their brother Wrath, and overthrew their father. Riding out of Hell, they brought about misery and destruction on earth, enslaving the human race to do their bidding.

In these dire moments, the Devil did the only thing he could do. He made a pact with God, to resurrect Wrath and allow him to go to earth and stop his brothers.

Instilled with the powers of Heaven and the wrath of Hell, he must cleanse the earth of the foul demons that now control it.

He must slay his 4 brothers and all their minions and cleanse the earth so that it may start a new...he is...The Purifier.

What you think???????

Sounds pretty interesting :D also looks like a very good read

It's coz the plot of Darksiders is very much the same...but we came up with it first damnit! He wrote a movie script in our 2nd year of university (2005) and we are now adapting that into a graphic novel....

I feel I need to clear something up. Buying stuff in Trade Paperback format does not always work out cheaper than buying the single issues monthly. A reliable source also recently told me that there has been or there is going to be a price hike on trades. Also, trades never become valuable, they are constantly reprinted. Single issue comics are only printed once (occasionally second printings happen, but they are not worth as much as first printings), this gives them collectability as there are only so many produced. I am not saying that you can make lots of money from collecting comics, as only really old, really rare, and really well looked after comics ever become worth any real money. But I get immense satisfaction from collecting comics in their single issue format, and who knows, maybe, just maybe, in 40 years or more, something that I own becomes thoroughly sought after and I strike it rich :)

enjoy it for the read

I enjoy comics for the read and riveting story lines - secret invasion arc,
soleil comics, gunslinger series etc. From what i gather if the comics are read there is no worth as collectors and investors want mint condition comics etc. Also sometimes trades are worthwhile getting especially if they cover a complete story accross many comic titles e.g. messiah wars trade contains all the one shots, life and times of lucas bishop and the relevant cable and xforce comics. I missed some of the single issues due to e.g. outerlimits under ordering and will need to order the trade to complete the story (hope to return for refund the wasted single issues)

enjoy the read...collect to satisfy and re read a great story arc

cheers

+1

Couldn't have said it better. Though Secret Invasion was overdone imho... Planet Hulk on the other hand was one of the most awesome series I have ever read. Period. World War Hulk was cool, but I didn't like that they did away with all the character building during Pak's run. :(

That said, haven't had the money or time to read many comics in the last three years. Once I sort my finances out, I'll be buying up TPB's on a massive scale :)
