Dark Souls 3

I found it very funny that I invaded a guys game as a red phantom and got a sunlight medal for murdering him, that's very not sunbro bro

That's due to the way covenants now function. Hence your reg/gold color instead of just red.

Ya I read up a bit today, When it happened though I laughed my ass off, kinda pissed I missed the mound makers early on , I didn't want to read too much about the game and ruin things for myself, going to have to push through the next 2 areas to get it now :(

You know, starting off this game and a good few hours in I was starting to get a little disparaged or disappointed by it. It started to feel like they were just throwing in bones and/or references just to appease us hardcore Souls fans for the sake of nostalgia. The world is somewhat linear, you can't progress from one area without going through another. Not like Souls 1 where you could enter Catacombs or New Londo Ruins from the get go. The story felt a bit blasé, again with the half baked ideas and direct tie-ins to previous Souls titles and characters. Needless to say I was starting to get a little cheesed...

... until this weekend that is. The story is starting to come together nicely. The world is starting to make a bit more sense and along with the lore. Now the speculation can really begin. I found some really awesome items and world details that start to makes sense (though somewhat vague, as this is FromSoft we talking about) and start to piece together places past and places present and how time shifts.

Does this kinda stuff tickle anyone else's fancy, or am I alone in this regards to the Souls titles?

Strangely I enjoyed the fact that they brought in older characters, the fact that its linear is better to me because then I don't need to worry about potentially messing up meeting NPC's at some point which was a problem for me in the other titles due to the more open nature, the areas feel big enough to explore but not so big that you cant complete without getting annoyed , Granted I'm only entering the swamp now but this is how I feel thus far.

What I did realise is the enemies feel more difficult than ds2 , reminds me more of DS1

The references to DS locations/npc's started to really impress me late game. I'm still trying to piece together how everything is tying in.

That awkward moment when you accidently summon a purple and red spirit into your game at the same time because who needs patience.

Also anyone else being plagued by abort connections and being summoned only to find everything moves like a static chess piece and you can take damage

I cant decided what sword I want to use i'm ocd'ing

Fancy giving a brethren a hand some time?

Yeah I'm down in Irithyll of the Boreal Valley, think the bonfire if Central Irithyll (that big round plaza).

I missed out on the phantom that you get later on, by running past the dog thing on the bridge (if you summon the guy there and kill it he helps you later on :()

Cool I can hop on in about 4 hours and help

I'll probably on be on from around 8pm. If you're around cool, but don't go out of your way to accommodate me.

Info above is slightly inaccurate, but the gist is there. I missed out on some cool stuff - heres the link if you want to see how to get her

I distinctly remember seeing and interacting with her in Firelink Shrine, then she disappeared.
