Could be a gunked up microusb port... Try cleaning it out gently, something like this

I've also wrapped a bit of paper towel over whatever tool I'm using and soak it in a bit of rubbing alcohol to clean off the contacts.

That's a possibility. Could be doing that overnight. Is there a way to get some kind of diagnostic?

guys i need help deciding:

Should i get the S8 or the Pixel? Since the pixel launched i have wanted it but now that the S8 is here im not sure.... the S8 has got hands down better specs than the pixel but has some issues with functionality thats not available yet...

Samsungs recent hardware issues don't fill me much confidence. So heart says S8 brain says Pixel.

i know thats what stopped me from buying the S8... maybe i should wait and see if the software issues get sorted, hopefully the rand gets a bit stronger and the pixel's price will come down a bit....

i have always loved the galaxy range from samsung.

maybe i should just tank both those phones and go with the Huawei P10 instead

Always a good option if you can't decide.
Huawei phones are awesome - My brother has one. Changed my UI on my s7 to emulate the P9.

Ja the hubby has the P8 lite and he loves it. my reason for not getting the Huawei would be the 12 month warranty compared to the samsungs 24 month warranty... the pixel i think depending on where i buy it also has 12 months...

ok so im just gonna bite the bullet and get the S8.... can get it for 1.5k less than the pixel and there isnt anyone selling the P10 at the moment so will just take the S8 thats on offer
