neither do i.... but considering I have all the necessary experience to be a manager my company really doesnt care... im just good at what i do

I am a sales manager at a PC retail shop for the past 7 years. Before that i had my own small pc shop where i gave computer literacy courses and pc repairs etc.

Hobbies: PC modding and upgrading.

Salary: I can tell you but then i would have to kill you.....

I'm a professional thread derailer specialising in humour of the unsavoury kind.

I have already begun derailing this thread.

Nah I'm referring to IT courses putting the term "Engineer" behind every title willy nilly. :/

Especially MCSE.

Sorry Fourie, didn't direct it at you. I'm just ovulating.

I mean no offense by this but, to all the "engineers" out there, did you guys study at varsity or are you claiming the title? This may be why ECSA isn't granting you professional recognition and the ability to sign-off designs.

For example: plumber = sanitation engineer.

Btw; I got my honours in Electrical Engineering from the University of Johannesburg last year and work for...wait for it...Eskom. Before you ask, no I can't get you free electricity and/or fix your kettle; loadshedding was before my time and the increases in electricity prices do not equate into a bigger salary for me (although I wish it did).

Let the hate begin.

I only have my N+ wrote it just after i left school and got a distinction... its a very easy exam not alot to it... but seeing as i have experience behind me it made doing the exam so much better for me... im planning on writing my CCNA (Cisco Communications Networking Administrator) exam in Feb its said to be one of the hardest exams ever...

Dude good luck with that. I'm sure you'll crack the exam ;).

I thought that after varsity I'd never have to study again...turns out you never stop studying . Gotta keep ahead in the ratrace...

You think N+ is easy?
I take my hat off to you, Sir.
Too much technical information to remember.
I'll keep to Microsoft Excel, thanks.
Someone in Technical Support lent me a Sybex N+ Exam Guide.
I'll be returning it tomorrow.
