According to the benchmark figures the 6 cores really don't show much performance yet, but, look at i7 for example. When it came out people "saw no reason" to upgrade from Core 2 CPU's. NOW however, i7 is what you want. The same is going to happen with the 6 core CPU's.
 
Yes but it will reach equilibrium when people either cant afford it or it reaches a point where it doesnt make all that difference considering Quad cores are still newish to the market. I doubt people would upgrade to 6 cores any time soon. Its overkill for the average.

I mean, the average gamer is not going to go for that. Its overkill and some see it as pointless considering the cost which most will not willingly want to fork out im sure.
