Xbox 360 VS PS3

Me, me, me!! :p Where to start ...

1. Heavy Rain
2. God of War III
3. Uncharted 1
4. Uncharted 2
5. Demon's Souls
6. Killzone 2
7. inFAMOUS

Those are all the ones I can think of now. You can't go wrong with any of them. If you're gonna play online get your hands on Uncharted 2 ASAP, best multiplayer game I have ever played (it just beats BF:BC 2 by an inch :p ).

I find the fact that you say X360 has better graphics very amusing. Have you even seen Uncharted 2? Or, for that matter, God of War III, Final Fantasy XIII or Heavy Rain? Nothing on the X360 can even come close to the graphics of these games. Multiplatform games might look better on X360, but that's because they are usually developed on X360 and ported to PS3.

The X360 ain't a bad console, but the PS3 just pwns IMO. :p

The AC2 faceoff is also in there. The Xbox gpu is also known to be more powerful than the PS3 gpu.

I don't care what some article says or if the GPU is more powerful than that of the PS3. Go and look at Uncharted 2 on a PS3 on an HD screen, and tell me anything on the X360 looks better than that.
 
Why don't you all just whip out your cocks and see whose is the biggest? I mean, that's what all this chest-beating X vs Y console bullshit is really about, anyway.

You've got it all wrong buddy. As a matter of fact, I regularly play on both consoles and a PC. I have a PS3 and my good friend has an X360 (I sold mine a while ago, needed the cash) and we swop out consoles at regular intervals to play all the exclusives (can't wait for Metro 2033 on X360). I was merely stating a fact.

That is not necessarily mean it has a more powerful GPU, that could come down to the programmers/designer etc being more skilled or them utilizing all the tools available in their graphic engine. Sure uncharted 2 is the arguable the best looking game, but its an ever evolving system where the next title will always look better than ones released a couple of months back.

I never said the PS3 has a better GPU, as far as I know it is a well-known fact that the X360 has a more powerful GPU. What I am saying is, that at this moment in time, nothing on the X360 looks as good as Uncharted 2 does. Better looking titles will probably still come out in future, but I am talking about right now. I apologise if I did not make this clear to begin with.

I'm skeptical to judge a console on paper, there is more going on in the inside then what the article suggest, but I get what you are trying to show.

There are so many articles out there and often they contradict each other. Fact is Xbox has more fan support in SA (likely in most areas) due to its earlier release date compared to the PS3. I think so many Xbox owners would be on the other side of this fence if the PS3 was released first. Nobody wants to go buy a different console when all their buddies play on the other, and in this case it is the Xbox due to the earlier shelf date.

As far as graphics, well I don't know longterm what will happen. Also I am from the school where gameplay is king, but graphics do go a long way. From what I understand both consoles are superior at doing different things. For me it is going to come down to the exclusives, and IF the PS3 keeps this new pace up, it will have done the job.

But atm it still feels like 6 of one, half a dozen of the other. Both are great.

I have heard that what helps to make Uncharted 2 look as good as it does is the Cell Broadband Processor's ability to take some of the graphics processing load off the RSX chip. This does leave me wondering how much extra work Cell is having to do and to what extyent compromises were made in other facets of the game to keep the overall processing load manageable. I would guess that Bluray's storage capacity would make it possible for the PS3 to stream a greater variety [or possibly more detailed textures if they could be made to fit into memory] of textures.

GAmeplay is still king though and one man's meat is another man's poison.

I only got my PS3 yesterday, jammed 2 games on it and I have to agree with all the points above, although having Xbox integrated with my Windows Media centre would make it the clear winner ... if PS3 didn't have BluRay.

The rest of it I agree with. The PS3 controller feels meh. The user interface i clunky and looks more like a support backpage than an actual user interface - take the xbox one as an example.

The console itself doesn't feel nice. Even the slim doesn't look very friendly...plus the clank noises when you switch it on / or insert a disk is also not so kief. Oh ... and I like that I can switch on my xbox and shut it down by using only the controller.

EDIT: OK I just figure out I can also turn my ps3 on/off with the remote. :o

Yeah, I've heard similar things. Doesn't matter either way, it's still the best looking game out there now, with FFXIII, GOW III and Heavy Rain close behind it. I completely agree with you, gameplay is king, but that's the thing about Uncharted 2, the gameplay totally trumps the visuals. :D
