Just the sheer freedom of having an uncapped line is what I'm most looking forward to. No more tallying in your head if watching this youtube video is a good idea or if a game patch you really need is worth the download. :)

And thats what its all about ....isnt it Freedom .
I enjoy P2P but only for TV sereis and well Im not going to DL terabyte of stuff every week so yeah freedom to browse and all the good stuff
And You know we all do the Math all the time and I dont Like Math.
 
MWEB already throttled me

Well just thought id let you all know i have had my 384Kb uncapped account for only 2 days. have not done over 10 gb, as it can barely get that amount. It says i have used 6.5Gb and i am allready throttled

Did a few speed tests and all came to 21Kb . And all downloads are that aswell. been like this all day. so i basically was throttled late that night on my 1st day

At this rate i am pretty sure i wont see past 40 Gb even though my line will have to be on all the time

Shaping and capping

While the MWEB uncapped business products are completely unshaped and uncapped, port prioritization may be applied to the consumer accounts during peak hours to ensure fast email and browsing.

Jansen however points out that the service will be completely unshaped during off-peak hours, and that the offering will be totally uncapped. Peer-to-peer traffic and large downloads are therefore allowed on the network, but this may be shaped during peak hours if it starts to affect web browsing and other standard protocols.

Jansen made it clear that shaping/port prioritization will be kept to a minimum and will only be applied during periods of particularly high traffic.

Seems like a considerable jump in terms of cost. Definitely something to look into. Webafrica is really expensive, I know they are tier one and all but I think I will change to another ISP for the majority of my surfing and use my WA account occasionally.

Maybe ask them to check your account or your line, im well over 35Gb and my speed tests are showing that im still getting almost max on my line.
 
So basically this Mweb deal is worth it? I dont normally download alot but if they are throttling connections i'm not so keen on it.
 
This makes me want to laugh at all the peeps who jumped on the wagon straightaway :D

I'll still be watching developments for a little while longer.
 
Openweb is just reselling mweb's product. They are basicly acting as a agent for mweb. That's why their prices are exactaly the same.
 
For the record the account is amazing, I have done 100GB since thursday night. I get great pings to local and internation al HON servers and find browsing, etc a dream!

So the R219 account is amazing and you got 100gig off it how the hell did you do that?
