Roccat Kave Solid 5.1 Headset

Okay. I ended up taking a chance and bought a set. They are indeed awesome but agree on tweaking the tin can sound a bit.
And yes they are heavy but it`s not the weight, the main reason this annoys me is with long use, something in the 3 cushion setup ends up poking me in the head, like some hard part.
But it`s okay, gonna gippo them, re engineer/tweak the comfort a bit...

My wife says she`s buying me a 'air traffic controller' t-shirt

I also took the plunge and decided to purchase this headset. For the price you're getting so much of value. I was luck enough to try out both
the G35s and the Kave and they are both awesome headsets. For me the G35s cannot be beaten in sound quality and the Kave has
pinpoint accuracy with sound placement. So it's a win win situation for gamers.

Woooooooooooooooooooot! :D

I officially own a Roccat Kave. It arrived today.

First Impressions - Its different to my Cyber Snipa Stinger. Once I put them on I cant hear anything. I can't even hear myself type :D The noise canceling is amazing!. The sound is so super clear :D I have not heard anything this clear! :D

Edit: Reviews don't do justice to this headset. I just tried it on Modern Warfare 2 and i can hear so fine details like water drops etc. I Can hear myself run much better. its insane! Its going to take a little while to get used too.

Its actually scary to a point if somebody robs my home while I am using these bad boys, they can take everything and I wont even know lol

with the roccat 5.1 on you can hear everythingâ„¢ in its finest detail even the other person s***ting his pants while dying after you fragged him.

I'm also a proud Roccat Kave owner. Loved it from the moment I bought it :)

One question though... The vibration function seems to have eluded me. Any ideas?
Just out of interest of course. I won't be using it permanently.

Phatso you nubin, you're not alone, I have no idea about the vibration thing, never really worried about it until you mentioned it the other day, but i still have no idea how to "try" it out. There's probably something on their website about it, I'll go hunt for it. .. . . .

"good good good, good vibrations"..

Its probable that it will irritate more than impress, but I need to play a round of BC2 with it on to ... er ... work out these knots in my back :D

So.. That means it was false advertising?

Surely someone can shed some light on the vibration topic, I am pretty sure it was more than just myself and SlipperyDuck that had a pair of Kaves...

C'mon guys, share the secrets of vibrational headsets please... :p

Dude, those be the very same type of searches, there's no definitive answer to the HOW DO I MAKE MINE VIBRATE question...

Sure, i understand that it reacts to BASS, but with mine I'm not getting any vibration, maybe i need to push it up to DEAFINING before it starts? dunno....

just get a vibrator... or are you looking for a surround one ? :D

Sorry, not completely on topic with the headphones... but at what shop can I buy Roccat gear??
Found some of their items at various online shops, but none of them have any reliable ETA on the stock i want -
looking for the Apuri gaming hub. but all estimates is only end next month...

Dissecting the eDimensional AudioFX headphones would answer that for you nicely.

Basically, the 'vibration drivers' are essentially just micro-woofers of sorts which have their active surface placed directly against the metal backing of the primary audio driver, or as I imagine in the Roccat's case, against another 'solid' surface within the headphones.

With the AudioFX, by simply taking a thin piece of toilet paper/foam or the like and placing it between the micro-woofers and the surface they're interacting with, or even using stand-off washers if the mounting system is such that you can remove their contact with the surface, you can achieve excellent bass from the headphones instead.

I'd still be enjoying the use of my AudioFX headphones had my friend not been kind enough to break mine two days after they arrived from eDimensional :l Got mine as payment for doing some work for them, so returning them for a replacement wasn't much of an option...

To more specifically answer how to get yours to vibrate though... If you're using a Creative series card, simply enable 'bass redirection' while in 5.1 speaker config. For on-board chipsets, look for a similar function.
