Guild Wars 2

Absolutely LOVING those animations. They're so well done.

Also loving the inclusion of Banners. Sounds like an interesting addition to the profession for sure.

warrior is gonna be real interesting to play, that's for sure...

also to add...

while they seem to be adding ranged skills to the warrior

i still believe the Ranger will be the ranged specialist plus add traps again, wooo fun times :)

Hmmm, that's some damn good animation and visuals right there.

The warrior looks great, but I see they make mention of the gun as something he'd use to pull enemies or finish off a fleeing foe, I assume the ranger is going to be an almost full blown gunner and archer possibly with pet support. Turrets would make a good pet I think...very steampunk. Doubt that would happen though.

Still rolling an elementalist at the moment though.

The game looks good.... But I disliked the pvp in GW1, and also Aion was a giant disappointment regarding NCSOFT.

Also, the voice acting annoys me :p

Just keep in mind that you need to treat NCSoft and ArenaNet as two seperate entities - they didn't overlap at all when it came to the development of the two games. Guild Wars is pretty much ANet's IP which NCSoft publishes.

Regarding Guild Wars's PvP - Guild Wars took a clear path to seperate PvP and PvE elements - leaving players free to explore whichever one interested them most. Which is unlike Aion where I'm going to get involved in PvP whether I'm in the mood for it or not - either that or sit somewhere and wait for the bogeys to bugger off somewhere else. Another thing I liked about GW PvP (I've mentioned this before) is that gear was a lot less central to performance - it counted certainly, but wasn't the be-all and end-all of PvP.

Unlike Aion, where if you meet up with a twink in full PvP gear, you're screwed.

Based on what I read in that interview there seems to be a very small chance that there won't be a seperate ranger class in the game, and that you have the option of equipping your warrior as a ranger? Very small chance I know, since rangers and warriors inherently use different armor classes ...

i'm still in favour of a combined scout class that has traits of both assassin and ranger.

some how the warrior videos make me think of D3, definitely some monk combat there. still i'm waiting and definitely going to give GW2 a try. it looks very nice.

Oh yes ... a monk/healer class is a given of course :) Although from what I've read so far each class will have some limited self-healing ability - same as they had in Guild Wars 1. Monk (or whatever they plan to call it) will probably be my second alt char :)

they need to get away from the unholy trinity in mmo's...

tank, healbot, dps...

they need to make it that anyone can do stuff...
the need for a specific team make up will always mean, somewhere along the line, someones gonna get left out...

Yeah so sick of having to go a build in MMO the cookie cut way I love doing my own thing my play style not just dps tank healer shit.
Like building my character for helping teammates but also myself where I can survive and still deal a good deal of damage.

blasphemy, and end up like dnd 4.0 !? :D. i would love to see a "class break away", but keep something restricted in certain races/combos because that is what does make it interesting or go the non class route as uo; you are what you train...

Well - seriously guys - Guildwars did move away from that aspect if you really think about it to start with - basically none of your professions was limited to doing what was classically expected of them. I mean, monks tanked (600 build) in CoF, Assassins did speed clears in Underworld - my Elementalist had a setup at one stage had a setup that had me standing toe-to-toe with a warrior in PvP for 5 minutes - neither of us died cos we were healing and dealing out massive amounts of damage at the same time. Neither of us had monk skills equipped :D

I think Guildwars 2 will move even further away from that - but keep in mind that certain classes will always be better at certain things - inherently. Class restrictions will probably play a bigger role in GW2, since I haven't heard anything about secondary professions.

Hi, I'm Jon Peters, one of the game designers on Guild Wars 2. While Colin Johanson has been busy working on a secret project involving V8 Juice and moa birds, we've been deciding how death and resurrection will work in Guild Wars 2 and what this means for the basic damage/tank/heal paradigm so familiar to MMO players.

Cool a new Article is out. Too long to post here so go read it very intresting still busy myself.

Man I wish that they would do away with a healer class.

That is why Guild Wars 2 does not have a dedicated healing class.

HELL YEAH :D :D :D

If they can pull this of as what it sounds then I am buying 3 copies!!!
