More RAM gonna make that much difference?

on a side note for people who dident know, anything more than 3gb's is a waste if your not running windows 7 as the OS cant detect more than 3

Actually it is 32 bit that is the problem. You need 64bit ideally if you have over 3gb. So any 64bit from XP 64bit to 7 64bit

Yeah what Tanka said, that's why I specifically bought 64bit. But yes I reckon RAM amount of more than 6GB is a waste. I also think that the GTX480 is overkill aswell, but I am not a heavy gamer, so thats my opinion.

Getting a SSD for the application you wish to run "Faster" will give you a more noticeable performance increase than actually upgrading the amount of RAM above 6GB
Literally the ONLY time you will see a performance increase is if you use an application like Flamewave or Combustion that can assign specific amounts of RAM to specific tasks.
For gaming and general use, 4 GB is actually more than enough

already have 2x ssds in Raid0 so that is not a problem. i want more speed now. haha

Total overkill... For now at least.

I am actually in a position where I now regret not buying more ram since I have DDR2 board which I bought not that long ago with 4GB and now going full 64bit and wished I bought 8GB that time. The RAM was like R300 for 4GB now goes for R1200

Rather get a bigger lcd if you realy want to upgrade or get rid of that 4890 and get a 5000 series or a gtx 400 series

Ja i wanna stick with LED now! Samsung has not made a bigger LED monitor than 23" and i would like to wait for them to bring out a 27" LED 120hz before i buy another one!
