Official Call of Duty: Black Ops PC multiplayer thread

Ja the final kill cam still annoying.

Also, when I pay and map finishes, I see the scoreboard etc and the countdown to next map. Then I see the image it shows to show next map, but nothing happens. Next map name doesn't show and load bar also not there. Nothing happens. I eventually have to hit escape and it chucks me back to game menu.

Another thing, I play on a map then get the whole no loading next map thing. Then I go to browse servers lists and that server I was just on is gone or doesn't show. And recent server tab also only works sometimes.
 
I really want to come join you okes, but I have to wait for the shops to get stock first.. lol :D

I just hope all the issues have been sorted by the time I get to play!
 
Guys I just spoke to Terak and he's downloading a patch for both SP and MP and its 16mb in total, thats probably the fix :)
 
Played untill about 12 last night and didn't have any issues. Low FPS of 55 a few times, but averaging at 80-90. Ping of 20-39 on various servers. After quiting I saw steam was busy updating, so will see if anything is better (or worse, touch wood) later.

My theater mode also worked, had two videos on it. Played about 9 games in total though, so don't know how it chooses which ones to keep.

Haven't tried zombies yet.

yay. i cant wait to try it this afternoon. my AA can go back up to x16. everything else is still on full but that. running fine. Oh and Vodacom is running on a ping of about 60.
 
After the patch, pretty much all my lag issues were fixed, smooth gameplay and very low consistent latency. Kind of baffles the mind why they would launch with the maxrate set up for P2P since people have known the ideal value since setting up servers for Quake 2.
 
Sigh. I have had it with this game. My ping is still on 700ms after the update.....it appeared to be fine this morning, but I guess it wasn't.

Both Cod4 and Modern Warfare 2 works fine with my Mweb account. .....................

Any ideas? Help will be appreciated.
 
Is there any way that someone can provide me with the IPs for the local COD Black Ops servers? I'd love to ping them using my WA account so see what my latency will be?
 
Ok update installed, SP works fine, MP still lags like crazy even during Training. :wtf:
More playable, but that sure as hell isn't saying much.

Plassie, Isen, Syco any ideas feel free to share.

Murph and Kyubi, which ISPs are you with?

I can use my WebAfrica account to join certain servers with a sub 60ms ping. Afrihost is sub 40ms. So, I can't understand why your pings are so kak. Next time make a note of the IP of the server and then do a tracert and paste those results here. Would be interesting to see where the lag comes in. I have a mate who is playing with his Iburst as well and he is doing fine.

Neo, will try and make a note.
