Dude, all you're doing by saying that is making a further stereotype out of gamers.. It's not gamers that are spoilt, it's the people that are spoilt.

Might be worth considering that both baldurs gate 1 & 2 had multiplayer. I lanned both through with friends and it was really enjoyable. You play as a party member or the main character. That said, the people your playing with need to not be asshats, this is very difficult to accomplish with random people over the net.
 
I just totally don't play mp games at all. Just more time-suckage that I don't have on my schedule w/ 2 kids :p

But bg was area isolated. Today's games you are "free roam" like oblivion and the netcode would be a lot more complex and intensive.

A games's longevity depend from person to person and not just a comment or review. Tie fighter and doom in my books for example had the most play throughs compared to other games.

MP is a very small fraction in the pool of a game being awesome or not.

Definitely replaying fallout 3...

Play Diablo.



Titan Quest, Dungeon Siege, Diablo, Sacred. There's a reason why I don't enjoy them and would sooner buy Dragon Age over any of them. DA is not a game that should "zomg thrive off of multiplayer." Dragon Age isn't a multiplayer game because it doesn't (or likely ever intend to) target a multiplayer audience.

I guess it just comes down to a difference in opinion, it is an opinion piece after all :)

For me MP is a pretty big deal, its something I really want in that kind of game. But hey, for some people its not :)

Seems everyone is upset about the inclusion of DA2, and not much else.

*nod* This is why I said that those games don't target you folk but folk like me. I do enjoy MP to an extent (well, co-op, especially) but in games like the short list I've mentioned, it's just an absolute turn-off in games I want to take seriously. If you know what I mean?

Oooh no. I haven't forgiven you for that slight against Deus Ex 3 by risking a comparison to Daikatana. There's a minor circle in Hell waiting for you for that :p
 
I'm upset about Deus Ex 3 personally, but that's only because i'm highly superstitious and I desperately hope it's nothing short of mindblowing
 
LOL, I'm just joking about (kind of). You can't compare the two. I loved both, but I loved Borderlands a little more; I still play it from time to time.

Borderlands was okay but erm... not terribly memorable to me. I never even bought the DLC for it, yet I own all the DLC for Dragon Age :o
 
Borderlands has secured itself as my number 3 favourite game of all time. The first time I played it I got bored after a while and traded it in. A few months later I bought it again and I haven't been able to put it down for long ever since. I just can't get enough of it and I really hope they bring out a sequel soon. I have all the DLC and have finished all of them, except the last one, at least two times. Mad Moxxi doesn't count as there is no way in hell I can do that on my own and I just can't find people willing to play through everything with me.

I also have Dragon Age Collector's Edition and Awakening on PC as well as the Ultimate Edition for PS3. Finished it twice on each platform. :)
