5 sequels we could have done without

Every Medal of Honor after the first 2...
Every COD after the first 3...
Every MW after the first 1...

Mind you... almost every new FPS game with digits running after the name.

C&C 4 utter,, borderline fail!

no idea why they thought they had to change a winning formula :(

Far Cry 2 aimed too high. In a few years it may be considered ahead of its time. Only being able to save when you sleep was brilliant as was the world physics. The malaria gimmick was fail as was the story and AI.

I enjoyed AOE III, sure not as much as I & II but it was still a decent RTS.

BioShock 2 I never even finished. While the original remains one of my all time most loved games the second one felt cheap and boring and had none of the appeal of the first, I hope BioShock Infinite remedies that.

Dead Rising 2 would be another I would add to the list.

Monkey Island IV

As much as I stick to my guns that MI 1-3 were created while the coders drank nectar from the gods, I must concede that MI4 was dismal. The whole 3d look and movement was terribad.

Duke Nukem Forever should be added to this list to the likes of Doom3.

Prince of Persia 2 (yes the old one) was also a poor reminder of the epic original title. It left me hanging - and not in the good way.

As for even mentioning KOTOR II in this article, makes me want to curse you with the fleas of a thousand camels! semi-jk! Obsidian did a fine job, but the ending was completely rushed by the bean counters. KOTOR II had an amazing soundtrack and is still my favourite RPG to date.

Hey someone else thinks like I do, Imagine that.

Hey, I'm older than you. So technically you think like me. Then again, you got the idea to marry a hot red head German first, so that means we're tied.

Das ist aber nicht lustig.

I wouldn't include KOTORII in that list either. I had an enormous amount of fun - actually I enjoyed it more than I did the first game. Unfortunately I agree with Voicy though - ending was crap. Almost game-breaker level crap.

But I'll still dust it off to play it again.

I played it for 32hrs straight with only coffee making and bio breaks. Student life ftl. I honestly wish they'd leave devs alone to make a game properly. Obsidian actually did stuffing well to keep up with Bioware's original. I was so indulged in that game.

And then you got to the end and probably said: WTF?!

Right? :p

If I don't bother finishing a game then that's normally a good sign that things aren't well. Bioshock 2 and Far Cry 2 are two that i just couldn't be bothered to finish. It mainly just means that I'm not having fun with them.

I had fun with Doom3 tho so I can't complain there

Far cry 2 was bad. The missions were tedious. You had to travel so far to get to one mission.

C&C 4 was so so so bad. made me want to puke.(the pic is c&c 3:p)

Doom 3 was meh. The first play through was great but yeah:(

Age of empires 3 was great at the time but kinda forgot about it.

Bioshock 2 lost the charm of the first one. Became to action orientated.

The new wolfenstien was also really meh.

Also modern warfare 2.

Heroes of might and magic 4-5(also six is going to suck)

Silent hill games after the Japanese team stopped developing it.

Definitely agree with a few of those. Bioshock 2 was a good game, but didn't do anything different from the first. It was pretty much just a cash in on the first game's success. Far Cry 2 got too old too fast. Driving around for 20-30 minutes just to go kill someone or blow something up and driving all the way back to go get a new mission completely ruined the experience for me.

Disagree with some of the ones mentioned in this thread as well. Dead Rising 2 is brilliant, it is one of the only 2 games I have ever finished 3 times or more in a row, Prototype being the other. KOTOR II was just as good, I enjoyed it a LOT more than the first one even with the less than perfect ending. I also rather enjoyed F.E.A.R 2. I never played it when it first came out and finished it for the first time about two weeks ago. Really looking forward to F.E.A.R. 3.

I would add MW2 to that list as well. To me there is absolutely nothing different about MW and MW2. It's exactly the same game with just a different (attempt at a) story and levels. Black Ops might have failed as a MP game for me, but at least I really enjoyed the SP and could actually make sense of the story.

Far Cry 2 is definitely one I'd put on the list, I tried to play it, I really did but I just couldn't. Deus Ex 2 as well what the hell?

F.E.A.R. 2 and Splinter Cell: Double Agent should also be added, they both were just shells of the original games.

EDIT: Not pandora, it was pretty cool, Double Agent was a poor port.
