Official HomeFront Discussion Thread

All those reviews have been console based. Don't forget that.

As for it being original, well what did you expect? It's a FPS. It's not like anyone will re-invent that in a hurry. Hell, even BF3 won't be original. Don't ge me wrong, I'm extremely amped for it, but how much of originality is left in any FPS? As for HF, I'll be getting mine on Sunday, as I won't be home till then, but I'll still get it. I mean, what else are you going to play for MP until September?

I personally am looking more for a wow factor than originality. I have given up on originality in FPS games. Homefront does not wow me in any way.

I remember watching those Bad Company 2 multiplayer teaser vids before it was released and that wowed me, so I bought it. The battlefield 3 trailer wowed me too, so I very well might get it also. :)

The BF3 trailers so have done way more than wow me. I dream about it some nights. I can't think of playing any game of the moment besides BF3. I caaaan't wait for that game!!! :D

But Den, let's see bru. I really am looking for something to play MP, maybe it's not bad. If a lot of local okes play, I'd still be amped. Hell, it looks 100x times better than FLOPS, so if that is the case, I would play the MP. I did like MW2 somewhat, and it was fun for about 2 months or so, so maybe this can at least provide me a bit more fun than the recent fail COD games. I'm still thinking hard about this one.

After all, maybe the console version does suck a little bit of balls...Not that it will change the fact that the SP is 4 hours. FOUR HOURS. That one really pissed me off quite a bit.

iGame has been part of the Trial setup and testing of a few local servers.
We will be hosting a number of public servers and can confirm that we will be able to accomodate the majority of local players

After reading a few reviews it sounds like this will be another game that had loads of potential but doesn't amount to much.

kinda what i feared, Kaos first outing Frontlines: Fuel of War falls squarely into that hole.

Plenty of promise that was just not utilised :(

i seriously wanted to give this game the benefit of a doubt, with it being a new ip and everything.

might still pick it up later though

I'm still going to wait and see what people say about the multiplayer. IF it's fun and can keep me busy for a while, I might still buy it.

Are there any PC Reviews?

The multiplayer is also easier to approach for less-skilled players thanks to the clever Battle Commander mode. This twist on traditional team deathmatch and conquest modes evens the battlefield by placing beacons on skilled players riding long killstreaks. The more kills you rack up, the more opposing players are notified of your position. Doing so discourages exploitative camping and gives good players a run for their money by putting the X on their backs.

Well some of my mates who pre-ordered on Steam played last night due to some gippo you do by re-naming the .exe file. Played online and everything. They sound fairly happy and enjoyed it.

Some of their comments:

Kyk enige game se MP komponent gaan afgewater raak na 'n wylke, selle hier - maar dit bied meer as CODBO.
Dink die nenigste een wat ons dalk lank mag hou sal BF3 wees - maar sulke games kom once a decade

So vir nou is HF se konsep vars en die rewards sisteem baie nice
Vir +- R350 is dit die moeite werd in ag genome hoe erg gatvol almal vir CODBO is en BFBC2 het min spelers

The game isnt as spectacular as BF3, but it really is fun, and its definatly something
different to the usual FPS weve been playing (COD and MOH). It also feels faster paced than BC2

So, these are from Souf Efficans who have actually played it on PC.

I'll be getting it on Sunday.

Ok, how about this than? It's not made by EA or Activision. That alone is good enough for me.

Just first off, EA and Activision don't make games. And then secondly, I actually love EA releases so I really, really don't see what's wrong with EA games.

Anyway... The MP actually looks kinda fun.. Man, I don't know what to do..whether I should buy this game now or not..

Do it. I suspect you could waste R350 on far worse things.

So what if it's not revolutionary? So what if it is not the best new thing since sliced bread? No one has yet said it's kak or buggy or anything, so to me that is already a major plus! So the SP isn't 17 hours. So the MP isn't as creative as some would like. So what? At least it would seem as if they have managed to at least complete the fucking game and not release it with a million bugs and flaws. But, those might yet appear once it goes live officially and many more play online.

At the end of the day, it's only R350 and 5-10 hrs of SP gameplay depending on your ability and probably at least a month or two of MP, makes this a worthwhile investment. It will also make the time to ... go by quicker!

How long did people say the Mafia II campaign was because it took me about 15 hours. :p

Just saying, I'm sure I'll take longer than 4 hours.

Well you know what they say (or what I say at least :p HAHA) The best thing before sliced bread was normal bread. And I can also think of many worse things to waste R350, and yes, it will make the time go by quicker. Maybe I should reconsider.

Haha dude :D But yeah, that's also true.

You mean its not published by EA or Activision, since they are both publishers, not developers.

Just first off, EA and Activision don't make games. And then secondly, I actually love EA releases so I really, really don't see what's wrong with EA games.

1: EA releaces buggy games
+
2: EA funds buggy games
=
3: EA makes buggy games

If they work for the publusher, they are part of the publisher. If DICE makes a buggy game, it the fault of all the other deveolpers under EA just as much as it is EA itself. So don't come with that crap of the difference between the pub and dev, I'm not listening.

On the flip side:

1: THQ releace polished games.
+
2: THQ fund polished games.
=
3: THQ makes polished games.

KAOS's good development is the prase of KAOS, all the other developers under THQ and THQ itself.

Hmm, alrighty then.
