Terraria

Please give some reviews guys...I've heard a lot of chatter bout this but haven't really had the time to go troll the net for reviews and opinions!

Excellent game, really worth the purchase. It has less building and more exploring though because of the whole 2d thing. Trust me when i say that it is very little like Minecraft but, IMHO i think its better. Epic weapons (Lighsabers FTW), badass pixelated armour and even bosses, its really great!

Well checked out some reviews as well and I'm convinced. Buying it now...
Now I must just get my assignments in without playing it and getting hooked.

Wowzers, didn't know you were on the MyGaming forums!

Indeed, great game, had many fun hours playing coop. Here is my rating - mygaming link

Awesome game, its not just a 2D Minecraft but its a whole lot more.
Granted you will play it less than Minecraft but well worth the money

Poor allies I say! D:
Heh, atleast the bombs become more than just a 'mining tool' now. Granted i've killed the eater of worlds with a 'hot-key-error' dynamite stick or two.

I can see Patch 1.0.3's changes.
* Sticky bombs don't get stuck to wall/ ground when attached to flying mob.

Future Of Terraria
Saw this posted on the official terraria site. (Well posted by redigit, the main(only?) programmer of the game)

For those who don't want to click:

Progression has been pretty slow over the last week. I've actually been in the middle of moving. I put an offer on a house before the first trailer went public, and got the keys to it the day before Terraria was released. (Great timing, huh?)

I just finally got my workspace set up at the new place, so I should be able to get back to the grind early next week. But enough about that, let's talk about the future of Terraria.

My immediate focus for the game will be patching up the remaining bugs, implementing Steam features, and of course working on multiplayer to make it more secure and accessible. Multiplayer is a bit of a mess right now, and a dedicated server with no graphics card requirements is very much needed. Content progression will be slow for the next few weeks until we get all of the necessities taken care of. Though, we will be adding a few new things here and there to keep you interested.

In the long term, we will not just be adding content, but new mechanics as well. Some of the ideas the we have been playing around with are:
Pure PvP servers with team based objectives. Worlds will be generated before every match. Imagine a CTF server where towers are automatically created on either side of the map. Players can fight it out on the surface, or try to tunnel into the other tower.
Adding sloped/inclined tiles to make the world smoother.
New harder world types to continue game progression (Ex: Alien plants, alternate dimensions, evil worlds, etc.)
Enemy factions that will move into your world, and build their own city. You can slaughter them while they are weak, or let them build up their strength to get better rewards.
More events: Volcanoes, earthquakes, more/improved invasions, etc..
Weather: Seasons, snow, floods, etc..
Farming, and stamina system that gives a bonus to player stats.
Mechanics for making traps and devices.
Terraria has endless possibilities, and there is still a lot more that we want to do with it. In the meantime, please be patient while we get the last few kinks worked out.

Sounds awesome!

After reading the IGN review yesterday, I'm definitely going to buy Terraria.

Don't think you will regret it. For its price, its a steal.
From what I gathered, most content addons will be free. Expansions will have to be bought though (expansions = Huge chunk of content or game changing elements)

I bought it yesterday and it's very addictive :D.

Been keeping an eye on this for a while now. Guess I'll fork out the cash this weekend and get it, you've all convinced me!

@Deceptor
Nice, yeah. If you get stuck, the official wiki at terrariaonline is really helpful, but try and avoid going there unless needed, it spoils quite alot of the game :p

@WingNut
Nice!

Pretty soon we would have enough people for a decent MP game. Can't wait for the PVP worlds to be released!

For those who are interested, 1.04 is coming out on Friday.
Sounds like its going to be a decent update.

With quite alot of content.
