Dude, remember, these guys have been making Battlefield games for 12 years now... I think they know how to make a good movement system by nowEspecially if you have played BC2, you should know that there's nothing wrong with their games. Movement is by far the least of your worries.
One thing I hope and pray for is good hitreg. I am sure they would have learnt from previous mistakes. when the beta drops I will let u know before u play it ;P
Now-now Sky... let's not be fanbois and oversell something.
There is MUCH that DICE can still learn from BC2 in terms of movement.
If I have to get stuck on 2 pebbles the size of my fist again, simply because they were exactly X or Y distance apart and I approached them from Z angle... I swear I will give birth to a crocodile and a cactus at the same time. Even though I'm a man. Yeah.
Another thing that REALLY bothered me in BC2 is how fast units actually run.
I have taken a sniper shot from home base to a camper on the broken boat. The shot did not hit. It would seem that he started running the exact same time as my trigger pulled.
All fair, I missed!
But by the time the bullet went *clunk* on the hull of the ship, he was already nearing the entrance ramp to base A.
Whichever way you spell it, that's not right...
Anyway, without griping this or that...
I'm glad to hear people saying the movement feels "nailed down".
The last thing I want is for the game to become LESS realistic rather than more.
Ok, true, but remember, it's an old engine and secondly, they said themselves that they are improving from all their mistakes from their older games. And dude, seriously- I get stuck in a tree now and again or what not, but it's really not that much of a niggle, actually, it's not even a niggle at all. Of all the fond memories I have of this game, getting stuck in a pebble is nowhere in there.
As for the running thing- that's not a "how fast they run" issue. That's a bullet speed problem. That will obviously be sorted out in BF3. I must point out however that it hasn't troubled me too much. There is bullet drop and you have to compensate for that. If anyone douchebag could just go sit in a bush and shoot you without having to compensate (like in COD) that would be a serious game breaker.
Naw you misunderstood me.
BC2 is awesome.
I love bullet drop. I love travel time. (even though both are massively overstated). It all adds to the suspense of it imo.
My point was just not to oversell something as flawless.
Besides... when last did your feet even touch a pebble?! ASSJACKET!
Last time I let you live that long was to see you squirm in your 'chute, teehee!
>> (Seriously, start flying like a friggin human instead a spastic squirrel!!! I CANT HIT THAT!!!)<<
bullets travel faster than their tracers.
I like the fact that you have bullet drop, it makes sniping fun... but irl, you just adjust your scope for it.
Yeah i know... what i don't like is servers with 12 snipers and 4 people actually doing something worth while. Sniping is great for K/D but you don't win matches with it.
