Starcraft 2


Not sure any one has seen this or tried it in custom? In the Burning Tide map. Way too easy :(

Agreed, the teamliquid site is really good for replays - but there is nothing like playing a real opponent. Most frustrating for me is having a build order all figured out and then somehow you forget half of what you are supposed to do because you get so obsorbed in game.
 
In the heat of battle too often the build order is forgotten ... and then it's too late.

Also look at some of the games/strategies hosted by Husky Starcraft and WTii. They're both pretty good at explaining the micros of what's going on.
 
I have been playing the Starjewel mod a bit now. Has been interesting. Just can't get the troops out quick enough. All about the right combos I guess.

Idra's premature gg'ing is the reason why he's half the player he could be. That game where he gg'd vs MMA was so stupid. He's not a true champion and isn't willing to claw his way out of a bad situation, what's worse is that he's gotten so used to leaving games he thinks he's losing that he was winning that game vs MMA and just quit.

If you watch the GSL you'll see that players like MVP, Nestea and MarineKing always fight to the bitter end. There are times when you even tell yourself "man he's being stupid, why not just gg there's no way he'll come back from this" but that is what champions are made of, they refuse to accept defeat and fight with everything in them till there's nothing left for them to fight with :)

Okay that's my Tony Robbins speach for the day lolol

On the subject of learning SC2, I highly recommend watching day9 dailies, especially Newbie Tuedays on YouTube.

There are tons of them, but few stood out for me:

Each episode is about an hour long, so make sure you have the cap and a cup of coffee (or 2).

This could probably be the best thing if you want to learn the inner workings of SC2.

I recommend also getting replay packs of some top players, Naniwa/White-Ra/oGsMC for Protoss. MMA/Thorzain/Goody for Terran and Idra/Spanishiwa/JulyZerg for zerg. Play the replays, hit Ctrl+N, bring down the Production window, select the player you're following then hit C. Watch how they play and take mental notes. ^_^
