MyGaming suggestion box

btw - why not have a preview comp where we post the previews for upcoming games like Helvetica, Halo Wars etc.
 
So far I'm loving the site, especially since everyone here is South African. Generally it's half impossible to find anyone from the entire continent who has internets -.-

Anyway, I'm not sure how it'd go down but one thing I'd like is more specific forum sections. Like, right now there are only 6 forums, which is fine since a lot of them are general and would cover everything, but it might be a good idea to have more specific sub-forums. I think a Media Discussion forum would be pretty cool, for music and movies and all that.
 
I don't know if it's been asked and answered yet but where is the :sick: emoticon? And on that note, will there be more emoticons added? Also, why is the strike-through not enabled/working?

There is no means of searching for news articles on the other sections of this site (not the forum). It's not a problem right now, but when MG has been running for a year (or even just months) it's going to get nasty

Ok so here is a basic synopsis of the suggestions you guys have fielded that we are looking at. There were a few others mentioned that unfortuantly wont be practical in the forseeable future, such as streaming music (which would gobble our bandwidth)

1. The Unread/read tab in the forums should be fixed, let me know if its not working properly for anyone

2. International game scores on reviews. We are looking at a basic short term implementation,as well as a cooler more complex way of working it into the design in the long term.

3. Screen shot of the week. We are getting to this, will also hopefully be setting up a funny WOW screen shots thread in the wow section.

4. New banners. There was a bit of a revolt against the NAG banners. I have a feeling it was largely related to that thread on MB. You guys still want us to get rid of them?

5. We may look into redesigning the black bar up top (user cp etc) to make it cooler, maybe add some textures etc.

6. User names on front page. I think we will probably jsut do away with the login on the front page, and just have one user name that works for the forums. The sign in on the front page is confusing and relatively pointless.

7. Xfire profiles added, like skype and other messengers. This should not take long.

8. Add thank you button, or introduce karma system. This may be a nice way of weeding out trolls and promoting positive forum behavior as well as establish trusted buyers and sellers for the classifieds section.

9. Retro gaming feature. I currently don't know much about retro gaming to be honest, but google is my friend and this is definitely on the cards.

10. Preview comp. We will be running one soon with a game giveaway.

11. MyGaming permalink in MyBroadband. just need to convince RPM.

12. The sick and evil emoticon. They are coming.

As to point 3 .... is it possible to now and then run a comp (even with no prizes) for screenshot captions? Everyone can always do with a laugh after all :D

Nice idea. We can look at doing a screenshot of the month/week thing, and maybe even do some prizes..
 
hey TM I dunno if you read my post in the Rank thread but I found a minor glitch nothing serious when you want to see forum leaders it doesn't show the fallout ranks
