Never experienced connection problems past my own crap connection. Why Evernight? Come join me and Missm on Snowbourn ;-)

I'll create a character on Snowbourn :) The connection problem turned out to be a national Telkom SAIX problem. My Lore-Hunter is level7 now! My ign is Felinas

Got my game updated. Seems I lost all my characters in the transfer. No biggie though, starting a new toon with my brother, so we'll roll on Snowbourn. :)

EDIT: I see that the my.lotro data is being populated. Its listing all my characters I created on the Evernight server! I had completely forgotten about them :D

Anyone have any advice as to what would be the best soldier to use in skirmishes as a hunter? I have a warrior currently...Bought as many upgrades as i could with him, but found that I die quite often if I don't have a npc helping me out

Where do you see your character list?
 
I really don't skirmish much, but as a hunter my strategy is, lay a trap, get a mob stuck in it, focus on another mob then finish off the initial guy. I use a herbalist at the moment so that I don't need to worry about heals
 
I'm a MASSIVE fan of LOTR and am actually thinking about getting this, is it any good? The community still active? And does it use a lot of data?

Get it!!! Get it now!!! lol. If u are a fan LOTR, then i would highly recommend this! Community is very active and much more mature (imo) than other communities (WoW *cough*). Doesn't use too much data. Not any more than any other MMO (except Rift I think).
I would suggest you get the updated client from someone if you have slow internet. Get it, try it out for a bit, then u can decide if you want to go VIP (access to all areas, quests plus other goodies). VIP sub is $15 per month.

Join us on Snowbourn! Quite a few SA folks there

Sweet you just sold me :D!! Saw a copy of the original plus the expansion for R150 at CNA, I'll get it tomorrow :)!

Its great if you can get the Mines of Moria expansion, as that gives you access to the Rune Keeper and Warden classes. Also, I think you might get some free game time with the purchase too :) You might still have to download some updates though once the game is intalled.

If I have to d/l then no probs. If it's like 20gigs then hopefully someone can put it onto a disk and I'll reimburse them :).

It will be patched up to MoM. There will definately be more for you to download, but it won't be 20gigs. lol. Basically, it will download the 2nd expansion (Siege of Mirkwood), as well as some other content updates. You will have access to SoM quests and skirmishes if you are VIP or if you purchase it through the LOTRO Store using Turbine Points.

But ja, I started playing again after a hiatus of about 6-8 months and I think my update was 1-1.5gigs.
