I know exactly what you mean.

But luckily I had the best of both worlds at school.
Played games with all my "nerdy" friends and the next day got onto the rugby field with the same "nerdy" friends! LOL

But you're right there is definitely a stereotype about gamers!

But the only way to get rid of it, is by proving your not an "alien" or some shit! ROFL

I don't think anyone's shown To0ken the secret handshake yet :p

But in all seriousness gamers are all sorts of normal people with normal lives and I think people in general are starting to realise that. It's just a hobby, not a definition of who you are. Add to that the fact that more and more people are getting into gaming, even if it's just cell phone games or farmville or something, gamers are not really seen as some strange subculture anymore. Of course there are some over the top hard-core types as well.

I did not realize anyone differentiated between the sexes when gaming. I always presume its mostly guys but that is simply a matter of perception when on line I guess

I don't really know dude.. I don't think there are that many chicks that play games online. Or not that many that go sit down casually after work to jam dik sessions with their clan mates etc. Or at least, I've never seen them. Unless they choose to remain hidden. I wouldn't blame them though! LOL

Definitely, and it's kinda sad! I really think we need to get some chicks into this game just so it can start looking "normal". Rofl. Imagine only guys went to go watch a movie or eat at restaurants. Hardly ideal.

Actually, I'm sure there are more than you'd think. Women learn very quickly to stfu in online multiplayer, or the sexist comments and/or unsolicited, um, "invitations" just become overwhelming.

You have no idea how irritated that makes me. Whenever I saw those posts you made about those guys making those comments to the chicks, I got so angry. I fantasized meeting them in person, while they're at it, and smashing their keyboards in their faces. People who harrass women online should be castrated. It's almost like "remote rape".

I actually game (PS3) online quite often with this chick I know, and she is a staunch player! And whenever she receives flak she will go off at the guy that mouthed her and make him weep :p! She doesn't take shit. I'm pretty sure Azi is the same online :p...

Haha, no, I don't use the public comms channel anymore. I'm usually playing with friends, so we just use the Xbox Party Chat instead.

XBox Party Chat with friends is the best way to go regardless. Don't have to deal with snotty 12 year old American / British kids.
