Agree, and work with different age groups. Who knows, maybe we will get new IP's that will surprise us all.Why don't they do a massive survey for girl gamers.
What women want ?
Who knows ?!
Really.. Who knows ?!
Maybe the programming ladies should get cracking at writing games they want , sell it on steam to show a supporter base and perhaps other companies can go from there ?!
Tarryn , not to burst your bubble here but what your complaining about ,
is about there not being a genre for something that is yet to be invented.
Look at DOTA , one simple map and it spawned HON and LOL and DOTA2 and more to come.
Is there a gap in the market place ? Yes !
Am I a girly girl to know what you want ? No ! I cant even understand what my fiance wants half the time.
You ladies crack out the programming manuals and show us what you want.
Invent the "missing" genre.
You posted your article , so now im asking you now ,
Tarryn , what kind of game do you want ?
Tell us.
that is +1 for Girls! As I am one of those girl gamers out there, my 2c's:
Whats with the attack on Tarryn, I don't see her complaining?
Both my sisters are gamers, As it stands my younger sister likes playing games like Sacred and Diablo, My older sister likes playing games like MW2 and FEAR3. It stands to reason but I think most if not all games are made for...GAMERS...You're sex doesn't come into it and it shouldn't have too.
The voice of reason has entered the thread. You have a moerse valid point. My GF likes LittleBigPlanet and Afro Samurai, while I know another girl who likes Resident Evil, The Sims and Tekken. It's really not a gender thing. Girls either like it, or they don't. Same as guys. You get okes who like shooters and others who like RTS games. Just a matter of preference, I reckon.
What I thought was said before. Anyways my partner plays rpg/fps or what ever appeals her fancy and not because they are "girl" or "guy" games...Shouldn't a good game appeal to all gamers? Therefore the need to cater for a specific gender goes away?
Absolutely, as I said earlier, in my humble opinion, the ratio of tastes in different genre's may differ between men and women, but I think in general, there's probably already a game out that you would enjoy regardless of gender. There are so many kinds of games out, I'm sure there's already something for everyone. What's left to be made really?
* please note at no point this is an attack, just bit confused *
Well this is kinda confusing I thought we were not suppose to label gamers into two different sexist groups as from what I remember reading one of her replies. Here we have an article about girl gamers.
Shouldn't be games for gamers and not just a group within them ?
/reread, maybe I've lost the plot *shrugs*
