So who's getting Dark Souls?

No Hobbits Allowed
I just placed my preorder with Kalahari for the PS3 version. Anyone else getting the game? I'm Looking forward to a masochistic weekend. :D

Geez, Demon's Souls was awesome but I don't know if I can deal with being slapped around like a little bitch that much by a game again.

I read a review on it, and for some reason I thought Dark Souls would be more forgiving. Apparently, it's even worse.
I know what kind of gamer I am, and I think it would drive me insane. I do like the online functionality of it though.

This will be my first foray into the "Souls" series. Apparently I chose to start at the deep end, but I'm quite prepared to die, a lot. :D

I wish you luck.
Picking my Collectors Edition up on Friday after work, Demon's Souls is one of my all time fav games. Spent about 133 hours on my 3 playthroughs, the last of which was on PBWT. I've read reviews in which it said they where 60 odd hours in and have barely scratched the surface. ROLL ON FRIDAY!

If I had money, I would get this. Unfortunately BF3, GoW3 and Skyrim are next on my list.

With the possible exception of Skyrim, Dark Souls will keep your attention 10X longer than BF3 & GoW3 combined. Nothing, in gaming, comes close to the feeling of achievement you get when you Down a boss or finally find that unique item drop that lets you upgrade your awesome sword into something aweinspiring. But it is not for everybody only a very small % of people who played Demon's Souls finished it, even less took advantage of the games brutal NG+ mode. Im passing on Both BF3 & Gow3. Batman AC & Skyrim are my next buys after Dark Souls but if I had to chose 1 it would be Dark Souls, hands down.

The reported high difficulty level is a bit off putting to me. I'll wait and see what the final review is. Might consider it next year.

‎"If Dark Souls has difficulty tiers, there are just two: Insane (online with hint graffiti) and Teeth Gnashingly Impenetrable (offline)."

If the idea of a hard game puts you off dont even bother. These games are harder than anything else you've played or propably will. It is unforgiving, brutal and evil. One thing makes it worth while, each death, no matter how frustrating, is fair. There is no cheap tricks, this isn't Ninja Gaiden, but even a vetreran like me will be cut down in a second if for one second you do not respect this game.

I'm really looking forward to a good old hard action/rpg. What i've seen so far of the game really impressed me. I will probably only be getting it after exam which should be about 22 November+, really looking forward to this. I love the setting and fighting. And absolutely love the online play of co op and pvp.... hope someone invades my game from overseas and experiences some lag.. mwahahaha

Well I've been looking for an online fps that I can play competitively, since CS:S has grown a bit stale. Only buying GoW3 for some decent couch co-op, since I don't have enough games in that category. And then Skyrim, cause, you know, it's Skyrim. I will definitely get Dark Souls - I love a challenge. But probably only once I have enough money to support a regular Xbox Live Gold membership, so I can take full advantage of it.

That's one of the main reasons why I'm getting it. I love a challenge :D.

Hope the courier comes nice and early tomorrow.

I spent over 250 hrs (think that's about right, last time I checked) on Demon's Souls, a lot of that in co-op with a buddy of mine. Was more or less on new game +++++, though I am not really sure to be honest. :P We imported our copies from Taiwan way before the European release. One of the best games I've ever played on any platform.

Add me on PSN please: shibobo
