Getting back to your reply:
After getting back and posing as an angel he proceeded to neg rep graal for nothing as being an ass, I was next after that which says to me a pattern is forming, hence reason for linking it here. He obviously is going down the list for some odd reason out of hurt or whatever his emotional connection is.

Next time I'd write up an easy grade 12 line that no-one can mistake for joking over forgetting we are dealing with the mxit/twilight/emo generation who seems to see all as an attack, like you seem to do these days coming out of the BF 3 launch thread throwing toys that we were a dick were in fact we were stating the facts as wel as coming in here all guns blazing doing yet the same over nothing.

Hi Prophet, I am aware that the comments are no longer anonymous, otherwise how else would I have known that I need to return the neg rep to you? In your effort to act smart, you just ended up looking like a fool. You took no shame in leaving the comment that you did, so I do not believe I have any reason to be nice to you. You are just as much of a troll as me.
 
You are aware that you just paraphrased, and thus the "quote" that you just used in your post is not really a quote at all. It's just another fine art of trolling.

I didn't agree with your statement so I neg repped. That is the function of the neg rep feature. If you dislike what you see. You neg it. Also, I disagreed with what you initially neg repped me for so I negged you straight back. Its really simple, neg me, and I will neg you back. Also, James stated that we should settle these disputes via PM, so please PM if you have an issue. I don't want to be the cause of derailing this thread again.
 
Guys, Hurdur isn't going to stop trolling if you keep giving him attention. He adds nothing of worth to this forum, and has made it quite clear that his only intent is to troll, despite always claiming otherwise. If you feel a particular neg-rep is unwarranted, report it to the mods. Don't draw attention to it, because that's all Hurdur wants.

Then you completely fail to understand the point of the reputation system. It's their to encourage good forum behaviour. If you disagree with a statement made by someone then you respond to that statement saying why you disagree. This is the point of a forum, for people to discuss topics and voice their opinions.

I hear what you are saying Graal about feeding the troll but I felt it was worth pointing this out just as a clear example of how not to use the reputation system. Also you can't just let trolls have free reign either, if no-one says anything then they just keep doing what they do. :)
 
There's something wrong with the forum's karma system. I think it may have a bug... It's saying that Mephiso_Helix has established himself as rather nice. :wtf: :p

Neg repping someone for disagreeing with you? You really think that's the function of the system? 0.o

If you neg rep someone for simply not agreeing with you - all you are basically doing is telling everyone that their opinion doesn't matter and that you believe you are always right. That's really not what it is there for.

It's simple - if someone does something wrong - like flaming, or being a general prick towards other people, or trolling, or attacking posters, or posting something really really stupid, then that deserves a neg rep. Neg repping people for disagreeing with you stifles debate, and that is the backbone of any forum.

Unless of course you like threads that start with an op and everyone just agrees with it for the next 10 posts until it dies.

And neg repping someone for neg repping you first seems ... y'know ... a bit childish. A bit like a kids' fight in the back seat: "But mommy, he hit me first!!! *WAIL*"
