The shit is about to hit the Hyperdrive.

/Awaits Flame War.

Well ubisoft can suck it then.
I was really looking forward to it, and I wanted it on pc.
Won't bother playing it on console if this is how the treat pc gamers.

“It’s hard because there’s so much piracy and so few people are paying for PC games that we have to precisely weigh it up against the cost of making it. Perhaps it will only take 12 guys three months to port the game to PC, it’s not a massive cost but it’s still a cost. If only 50,000 people buy the game then it’s not worth it.”

50,000 @ $25 = $1,250,000.

What exactly is their problem?

Edit: Oh, that's right.. You'd have to be a stoner to buy any of Ubisoft's games for PC after they fucked them all up.

What gets to me is why I bother spending R30 000 on a pc and then all the developers turn into a bunch of fucktards.
This seems to be the trend lately, they are a bunch of lazy ass wipes, and they can't be bothered to support the 1 part of the gaming industry that has been there from the start. Same with console to pc ports. These days you don't need to bother building a monster rig, because the graphics of the ports look up to shit an anyway.

"If only 50 000 people buy the game..."
Is there going to be something wrong with the game that they don't have confidence in their product? That statement can't be because of piracy alone otherwise that would apply to Prince of Persia and Assassin's Creed as well. Or perhaps they are thinking of their latest blunder with the excessive DRM in From Dust.

Quick question... don't they pirate console games as well? I'm sure I've seen cheap console games for sale on the streets.

I started quoting this to vehemently disagree with you...

Then I thought about it...

And you're right...

I've had my build for the last four years (Q9550, NVIDIA GTX260 216SP, 4GB 1066MHz) and... you know, the only game which has even slightly shaken it so far has been Witcher 2. Every single other game runs flawlessly at max graphics (Skyrim, anyone?).

Look, I'm not complaining--the more money I can save the better, you know? But you're right--ports are the least graphically-intensive games there are. Witcher 2 had some "port" qualities (the UI, specifically) but it gave you a run for your money and you can feel that it still had PC in mind.

The thing is, developers really are just getting lazier. Listen to Bethesda, "Zomg... developing for PC is just SO HARD!" Idiots.

Let's blame piracy for all our failings instead!

Yip its fucking stupid. Meh I am in a pissy mood today and this has just pushed my buttons.
Well from now on I won't bother supporting Ubisoft. Most of the people I know own both consoles and pc's and they prefer playing certain titles on certain platforms. This is just ubisoft catering to the casual gamers and if this is the case the game will be a pile of shit an anyway.

Which is why I stopped pumping money into PC gaming. 2 Consoles and bang zoom off I go. (Please note this is my own opinion and I am not about to force it on anyone) The few titles that really do play better on PC, the witcher, SC2, STALKER, are so few that its just not worth the $$$.

Well, now no one can buy it because its not available.

Doesn't really matter, there are so many other games out there.

Pffft... I'm a PC gamer through to the bone.

I don't mind ports at all. It's the "bad" ones I mind; with stupid DRM to boot.

They run better on PC anyway and worst case scenario, pop in a controller :D

As ive said before to each his own but I seriously dont see why people make such a huge issue about it. And I dont feel they run better. Poor Wlad is still getting Skyrim CTD, Arkham City is have DX11 issues. Not a week ago we had an entire thread about how huge patches are on PC. For me coming home, poping the disc in the tray and playing within 5min is the very essence of comfort. Unfortunatly, for the pc guyz, this is a numbers game; there are simply more people playing on console.

You know, I don't really experience those issues. I just click play in steam and off I go. I do have to download first but thats a different matter and not really gamings problem.

meh Ubisoft only release bug ridden Games for Dummiesâ„¢ certified crap anyway.

Gone are the days of quality titles like Rainbow Six, Ghost Recon and Splinter Cell. But rampant piracy wasn't issue then was it

My experience with console = jaggies, stutter (framerate), low-definition textures, zero anisotropic filtering and just a mediocre experience.

Consoles have their place and I'm all for them (the more people who have access to gaming, the better).

Just don't try to sell them to me as "better."

Sure, CTD issues and DX11 issues. That's not much different to savegame corruption and all the other nonsense on consoles.

Depending on your personal level of affection for a particular platform, your fault tolerance is just higher :p

Yet there is a new Rainbow Six and a new Ghost Recon coming out.

" the developer doesn't develop for my platform there for they are stupid and only make shit" whawha.
By that logic both Witcher Devs, Stalker Devs and Blizzard has to be shit coz they dont (yet) develop for consoles.

I think it comes down to personal experience. I had many issues both SP & MP which put me off it completely, consoles on the other hand have always delivered and rarely given me any issue thus I prefer my gaming on them.

I'm glad :) Whatever gives you the most enjoyable experience is best. Would hate to think you play on something that drives you bonkers with rage.

Where's that freakout video... I get a twisted sense of satisfaction watching people rage :D

This is just retarded. Haven't they realized that piracy is just as easy on a console as it is on a pc? Only reason I can see why they are doing this is cause they charge R500 for a console games and R350 for pc. Only problem with that Idea is that they are assuming that every PC owner is going to switch over to console.

Not in a million years. Screw you Ubisoft.
