“It’s hard because there’s so much piracy and so few people are paying for PC games that we have to precisely weigh it up against the cost of making it. Perhaps it will only take 12 guys three months to port the game to PC, it’s not a massive cost but it’s still a cost. If only 50,000 people buy the game then it’s not worth it.â€
What gets to me is why I bother spending R30 000 on a pc and then all the developers turn into a bunch of fucktards.
This seems to be the trend lately, they are a bunch of lazy ass wipes, and they can't be bothered to support the 1 part of the gaming industry that has been there from the start. Same with console to pc ports. These days you don't need to bother building a monster rig, because the graphics of the ports look up to shit an anyway.
I started quoting this to vehemently disagree with you...
Then I thought about it...
And you're right...
I've had my build for the last four years (Q9550, NVIDIA GTX260 216SP, 4GB 1066MHz) and... you know, the only game which has even slightly shaken it so far has been Witcher 2. Every single other game runs flawlessly at max graphics (Skyrim, anyone?).
Look, I'm not complaining--the more money I can save the better, you know? But you're right--ports are the least graphically-intensive games there are. Witcher 2 had some "port" qualities (the UI, specifically) but it gave you a run for your money and you can feel that it still had PC in mind.
The thing is, developers really are just getting lazier. Listen to Bethesda, "Zomg... developing for PC is just SO HARD!" Idiots.
Let's blame piracy for all our failings instead!

Which is why I stopped pumping money into PC gaming. 2 Consoles and bang zoom off I go. (Please note this is my own opinion and I am not about to force it on anyone) The few titles that really do play better on PC, the witcher, SC2, STALKER, are so few that its just not worth the $$$.
Pffft... I'm a PC gamer through to the bone.
I don't mind ports at all. It's the "bad" ones I mind; with stupid DRM to boot.
They run better on PC anyway and worst case scenario, pop in a controller![]()
As ive said before to each his own but I seriously dont see why people make such a huge issue about it. And I dont feel they run better. Poor Wlad is still getting Skyrim CTD, Arkham City is have DX11 issues. Not a week ago we had an entire thread about how huge patches are on PC. For me coming home, poping the disc in the tray and playing within 5min is the very essence of comfort. Unfortunatly, for the pc guyz, this is a numbers game; there are simply more people playing on console.

meh Ubisoft only release bug ridden Games for Dummiesâ„¢ certified crap anyway.
Gone are the days of quality titles like Rainbow Six, Ghost Recon and Splinter Cell. But rampant piracy wasn't issue then was it![]()
You know, I don't really experience those issues. I just click play in steam and off I go. I do have to download first but thats a different matter and not really gamings problem.
My experience with console = jaggies, stutter (framerate), low-definition textures, zero anisotropic filtering and just a mediocre experience.
Consoles have their place and I'm all for them (the more people who have access to gaming, the better).
Just don't try to sell them to me as "better."
Sure, CTD issues and DX11 issues. That's not much different to savegame corruption and all the other nonsense on consoles.
Depending on your personal level of affection for a particular platform, your fault tolerance is just higher![]()
They've failed PC! BOYCOTT!
I think it comes down to personal experience. I had many issues both SP & MP which put me off it completely, consoles on the other hand have always delivered and rarely given me any issue thus I prefer my gaming on them.
