Mygaming actually writes articles that some of you could actually read .

PS 3 is getting it earlier as the PS 3 players that bought Bf3 on pre order was told they would get Bf1943 for free,

The ended up not getting it at first and this early access was Dices way of making them happy.

they took dice to court and they are getting it now :D


Ps .. early feedback is that you can now see ping ( not your own )
enemy explosive shows on the minimap.
Flashlight is worse than before
IRNV has a misty look to it making instant zoom and shoot very hard.

I assume that the 3.9GB file size includes the Back to Karkand DLC which is releasing on the 14th. If you have the Limited Edition of the game, your download will be of 3.9GB's while those with the standard versions would have the 2GB update. I stand corrected on this one, but I think that could be a possible explanation of difference in file sizes. Or it could just be an outdated report.

Well, I heard some feedback from a few people the following was mentioned:
  • Flashlights are apparently worse and appear to emit similar amounts of retina damaging rays compared to the sun.
  • Pings are shown
  • Enemy explosives clearly visible on the map
  • Chat filter has been moved and looks much better
  • IRNV has been nerfed big time, thermal optics in vehicles work better


Hopefully I receive full download potential for this update as I have been downloading rather slowly. The WAGE servers have been updated and one should start seeing them pop up on Battlelog shortly.
 
Oh I am so looking forward to the 14th. I've been waiting for this day for a while... I can just imagine the fun of playing with a couple of friends on Wake Island.

Bah! I meant BF2. Daaamn! I reckon they should have mixed the Battlefield 2 theme tune in with the swarm of bees, doesn't really sound all that Battlefield like. Either way I like them both.

Yep, if you have the Limited Edition I'm pretty sure you'd be downloading the 3.9GB patch too.
 
Ah alright, so the patch is 3.9GB's to everyone. Cool, that clears things up.

Yep seems so. According to one of our admins, the flashlights appear dimmer at distances, but at close up it melts your eyes.
