Nope, it's been confirmed that it will only have Steam achievements if you buy it through Steam. All physical copies, including limited editions, are authenticated via Origin. There was some speculation that retail boxes would contain a code that worked on both Steam and Origin, but that doesn't seem to be the case any longer.

It's good to get away from gaming for a while and focus on other things. Just means you enjoy gaming that much more when you get back to it :p

I study game design. I pretty much eat, sleep, dream, shit games/gaming. Then there is all the psychology, philosophy or just plain observation I try to get through to better prepare me. Which I guess I why I often have unique views on certain topics, I try and look at stuff my a unique point of view.

I see, I see.

I'll always love gaming but I tend to go through periods where I play heavily for a few weeks and then I take a nice, long break from it all. I've never been much for creative work, I figure I was born with the capacity to appreciate more so than to ever create :p

Well that's just weird, I've never seen a game be released this way on PC. Oh well, I'm not really planning on getting it anyway... :/

Heh... Tell me about it.

I'm interested in it, I just don't know if it'll be worth it. The demo kind of put me off... BUT... if I stop being a pretentious git (damn you Mass Effect, Dragon Age, SWTOR, et al) I might actually enjoy it.

I can not imagine not playing Mass Effect. My 2 Shepards (1 saintly male, 1 bad ass female) have become "real" to me. I was upset when Liara, who my female Shep had had a relationship with in ME1, distanced her self in ME2 but stayed true to her. I was angry when Ashley snubbed my male Shep in ME2 after the deep relationship we had in ME1 and Male Shep sought comfort not with Miranda, or Jack, but with Tali. Garrus is my close friend, Grunt the youngling learning from My example. Wrex the wise old master who I almost killed but now regard me as almost family. And Anderson, the Obi-wan of the Mass Effect Universe, found myself wishing I could shoot Udina when he screwed him over. Few other titles have me as investing in the characters and events of a fictional universe.

Dude, likewise. I felt like a real dick at the end of the Shadow Broker DLC. With my Broshep I romanced Liara in ME1 and Miranda in ME2. I felt like quite an asshole when I had the whole conversation with Liara at the end.

With my Femshep I stayed true to Liara.

hey... does anybody know about a tool / utility to analyse my Mass Effect 2 saves? I've done a couple of playthroughs and I'm starting another one, but I cannot remember the choices and romance options I made in the others. I've seen a Gibbed saved game editor, but as far as I can tell, it is more for changing powers, cheating, etc.

I tried it out last night. It's pretty fun bun takes some getting used to, like the game not pausing when selecting powers.

Yup, Yup and I've made plans to delay playing Mass Effect 3 for a month or so after it's release. :D (Ordered Mass Effect 2, which I'll get just before the release of 3)

The logic is simply that EA games generally launch as buggy as a beetle. So, it will be horrible to install ME3 only to find out it's not finished. So, ME2 will keep me entertained while I wait for the first patch. :D

Bioware is the developer, not EA. I don't recall encountering any bugs with Mass Effect 1 or 2 (ME2 I got on release date). Even Dragon Age 1 & 2 was very stable as far as I can remember. Based on my experience with those 4 games, I'd say Bioware's got quite a good track record.
