23 Hours isnt that long sure I have done longer a few years ago where I didnt sleep 1-2 days in a row when lanning etc.

He probably never ate/drank or went to the toilet

Not moving is the biggest part of the whole thing.

Most of the LANS I ever went to I hardly spent that much time at my machine, often just wondering around chatting to dude, watching games and all that jazz. But to just sit on a chair for 23hrs straight, that will mess you up.

Yes and people with preexisting conditions sometimes keel over without even touching computers.
