Anyway, Mike 'O Brien about microtransactions.

Where do you get that from?so GW2 is going PAY2WIN ?
Here’s our philosophy on microtransactions: We think players should have the opportunity to spend money on items that provide visual distinction and offer more ways to express themselves. They should also be able to spend money on account services and on time-saving convenience items. But it’s never OK for players to buy a game and not be able to enjoy what they paid for without additional purchases, and it’s never OK for players who spend money to have an unfair advantage over players who spend time.
so GW2 is going PAY2WIN ?
Just some random honest question, but it stems from the 500+ odd comments on facebook. I thought myg was better community to relay and wait for decent infoWhere do you get that from?
jirre julle mense is kwaai so vroeg op lekker vakansie dag... lol.NO he is just being on his #%^^ high horse again
As long as it doesn't become like champions online where everything is like R80-R150 per element you buy. That's just stupid. There is no and will never be an advantage at all from GW/GW2 micro transactions. All they sell are character slots, pet unlocks and skins.
Noted. You seem like an intelligent human being Prophet. So why comment something from random people when you are probably well enough versed in the interwebs and can find this out for yourself?
No animosity. You tend to piss people off with your arrogance, maybe try and work on that.Anyhoo...on to GW2 topics again.
Clearly Prophet you are either not reading wtf anyone says or you have not followed anything on GW2 since it's announcement or you are just painfully arrogant and won't understand.
lol... Prophet again making trouble here, but thats nothing new
He is KING don't show him wrong otherwise he will cry, would not suprise me if he is still 15 years old.
Procuno said:I guess today is safe to say, if you have not received an invite you are not getting one.
Sigh they did say few days, maybe they are still sending out. All I got was "thank you" and that was it.Yes, I believe everyone got invites already :'(

• Collector's Edition (North America and Europe)—Customers will buy the Collector's Edition Pre-Purchase box and receive a Pre-Purchase serial code. They will then go to https://register.guildwars2.com and follow the on-screen instructions to create a Guild Wars 2 account and apply the serial code, which will give them access to Beta Weekend Events and three-day Headstart Access to the final game. When Guild Wars 2 launches, customers will need to return to their retailer with proof of purchase to receive the full Collector's Edition box with physical items and retail serial code. They will need to apply this retail serial code to their Guild Wars 2 account within five days to continue playing without interruption.
You seem to think buying gold with real money is something new and only happens in games with micro-transactions, I'll tell you now that's not true. Played wow for a long time and many many people buy gold in that game, it didn't destroy the economy nor did it give them any kind of real advantage. Sure they had a bit of an advantage for like the first few weeks of an expansion when they could buy all the mats for entry level craftables but it didn't take long to catch up. The guys in my guild who actually had crazy amounts of gold didn't buy it, they just loved playing the auction house and would sit for hours buying and selling.I have a real problem with this. Consider the following: by Arenanet's own admission, you can buy gems with real money and then trade those gems for in game gold. To cut out the middle man, this means you can buy in game gold with real money. Are we agreed on this? It is similar to a system in Eve that allows you to do the same.
Now if we are agreed on this then let us maker another assumption: in game gear is not going to be ALL bind on pickup, there will be gear you can trade with people and hence buy with in game gold. If this was not the case then GW2 would not have an in game economy. Are we agreed on this point as well?
So in effect, you can buy in game gold with real money and then spend that in game gold to buy in game items, armour, weapons etc. So take player A, who ONLY plays the game and does not spend real money buying gems and spends her/his "time" adventuring and selling items on the AH to make money to buy better gear on that AH. That person spends a lot of time doing it.
Player B spends real world money to buy gems, buys in game gold with the gems and spends it on buying sword of mightiness +10, all in the space of 10 minutes.
Now how does that statement at the start of this post hold true now? The only way that it will hold true is if Arenanet abolishes a player economy and makes everything bind on pickup. Which they are not doing, since the same post from them mentions player stalls.
Can you now see why I am more than a little angry? Microtransactions that allow you to buy fluff and xp potions I have no problem with. Using your credit card to buy items, I do, most assuredly.
Edit: if I have made any incorrect assumptions in my post, please feel free to tell me where.
