So I posted a thread last week regarding how fantastic Btgames is *sarcasm*

Today at 16:30 i get an sms

"Due to none payment of your deposit as per your order conformation last week. Your order has been cancelled for D3 Collectors edition. BT Games."

Now this is absolute bullshit, as I went to pay the FULL R699 on Thursday last week. And whats best is, this wonderful company is closed at 4pm, so I can not phone their magical head office and swear at them like a dock worker.

I have however sent them a fantastic email with all sorts of adjectives in it :)

Please do yourself and your relatives, even the thieves in jail and warn them about this absolute JOKE of a company!

** I however did get hold of btgames bloem and they said they have my order and see I have paid the full amount and I must just ignore head office.

Boycotting BT Games as from now.

So basically your argument is with BT head office not the branch that you are buying from?
I too have experienced the incompetence of BT head office with a couple things but I don't see why you boycotting them just because of HO.
BT Games is just a company that has the right arm not knowing what the left arm is doing

Well HO is responsible for their branches are they not? Ordering from them is just not worth all the shit you gotta go through to get your stuff.

As far as I know they are franchises (might be wrong) but no company is without their shit. Some more then others but if its only preorders that they screw up with because of that going through HO then normal over the counter purchases should be fine.
/but yeah I also wish HO would get their ass in gear

They are not franchises, Each branch is controlled by HO. HO does however handle all online orders so yeah.

Good luck potti I hope you get your edition. In future just order from Zaps.

Potti, you have my greatest sympathies but this sort of shit is why I refuse to use BT.

I've had so much grief with them over the years: always a problem with my account; always a problem with my order; always a problem with my DLC/pre-order incentives; always a fucking problem. I only ever used them when they were the exclusive retailer for collector's editions and they stuffed EACH ONE UP in their own special way.

Takealot, Kalahari, Zaps = your best options.

I'd sooner import than ever toss a cent BT's way ever again.

Learn from this and buy wisely next time otherwise no sympathy for you :)

hmm seems like I am the special customer that hasn't really had major problems.

But I would still rather buy from BT Games over CNA, Musica, Look and Listen and other places.

Sure. If all you're doing is walking into the store, picking up a game they have on display and leaving, then success. They can at least do that right otherwise I imagine they would've gone to hell a long time ago.

But "complicated" things like pre-orders, billing, accounts, orders, pre-order DLC/incentives and items, support, feedback and basic professionalism? Good fucking luck.

I don't blame the retail staff because they just do their jobs. But as far as anything "complicated" is concerned, especially when it involves their headquarters, forget about it.

I abhor BT with a passion.

Well some of the staff are really bad that I have seen, I have seen numerous times when they are slow, blame their co workers for unorganised work areas. rude to customers etc etc, usual crap.

I haven't had any problems with DLC's keys going missing, but have had problems with confirmations not coming through, which yeah is head office.

I really think BT should go franchised or each region should have their own HO as the current HO are useless, really truly are.

The staff at my nearest BT Games store are the ones who sorted HQ's shit out every time, so my hat goes off to them.

I've had pre-order DLC keys not arrive when they were due, so I bought them on eBay. A week later, BT texts the code to me. What the hell is the point of pre-order DLC keys A WEEK AFTER the game has been released? When Takealot and Kalahari customers all received theirs with their games.

No, there's no love lost between BT and I.

I myself have been dealing with BT games today, as i have still been waiting to receive my pre-purchase key for GW2. It just blows my mind that they would treat a paying customer with no respect or urgency at all.

Seems more like they want to make the money but not do the work.. Waste of time if you ask me.

I don't think I've ever been to a BT games where I haven't wanted to punch the dude behind the counter in the face. I think all BT staff are bred at the same doos farm. Any others who are helpful and friendly managed to escape in the dead of night.

lol!! +1 :d

Me myself had a sickening experience with them.
Called the to confirm stock, drove all the way from Pta North to Woodlands for nothing.
I felt like kicking the fatboy's ass!

I for one, will NEVER buy from them.

Oh, I had me one of those. Got a text that Skyrim CE was ready to collect. Drove 65 km to my BT Games store. Arrived and was told that it isn't there yet. So I asked, "Well then... WHEN?" She says later today. I asked if she could call me on my cell when it arrives, she says that they aren't allowed to phone cellular numbers (apparently blocked or something). I was like :wtf:

So I drove back to Knysna. Drove through to George again at 15:00... Collected it... then back to Knysna again... 260km FTW.

That was the last time I dealt with BT Games; again because they were the exclusive retailer for the Skyrim CE.

According to their latest publication, there are about 44 BTGames branches in South Africa. At an average of 3 staff members per branch, there should be approximately 132 employees, no? Add to that the individuals at their head office and a few more for the branches that employ more than 3 people and you end up with about 150 souls.

Your remarkable feat of having met each and every one of them (not to mention the enormous distances you must've travelled to do so) is of course what entitles you to make such a statement.

The cousins Assumption and Generalisation can be nasty customers. Remember that a retail store's employees can just as easily assume that all customers are assholes, which would be wrong, because that be would be gratuitous generalisation.

You seem to be under the impression that BT hires the cream of the crop. They don't. They hire whoever is willing to work for minimum wage.

And, personally, from my experience with most staff members across the retail spectrum, minimum wage doesn't buy a lot of happy or competency.

Lol'ed hard :D

I must say that it all depends on what store you buy from.

I used to travel to Greenstone (As it was the closest BT back then) and I only ever had one cock up caused by the staff, but the guy there realized his mistake, phoned HO and I got some exclusive DLC for the game even though I never pre-ordered. A meager compensation, but I was happy.

Then BT opened up a store at Eastgate. Was much closer to me so I decided to try using that store. They have got to be the biggest retards alive!! The fucked up my Gran Turismo 5 CE by selling it on launch day when I was supposed to collect it! Then I went in several times after that and two times they asked the cleaning lady to help me as they were on fucking lunch?! The fuck?!

And the a BT opened up at The Glen, literally a few blocks away from me. Some of the best staff I have encountered at any store I have been to, not one single cock up, and always been happy with the service.

So while I'm not BT's biggest fan, I will say it all depends on what BT you go to. I will support that BT store happily!
