Erotic game "Seduce Me" booted-off Steam Greenlight

How is 50 Shades any Different that Game of Thrones? Oh Game of Thrones is ok because its a Fantasy Political Drama so that makes the copious amounts of Sex in it ok does it? Are you offended that they sell Game of Thrones at your local book store?
Um actually the books don't have that much sex in them, the TV show has 10x more than the books. Even then when sex is mentioned in the books they are usual just describing some that has or is going to happen rather than a detailed description of the act itself. So yeah, quite different from 50shadesofladyporn. :)

As for what James mentioned, I agree I think Valve need to look at implementing parental controls, so they can control what their child is allowed to do with the client, which games can be purchased, if games are even allowed to be purchased, all that stuff.

I haven't watched the TV show so I wouldn't know. I know my wife loved the book and enjoyed explaining to sex scenes to me. My point was/is its a book, it doesn't have pictures (unless there is a graphic novel out I dont know about) so getting all offended by it while there are alot of other book that dont hold back on the graphic sex/violence seem to pass just fine. The only reason, IMO, that there is that its become the internet's new favourite thing this since the twilight years have passed.

He-Man's sister is She-Ra
Teila is the GF

Ah I see it now. Before the women looked like She-Ra

I don't care care how you sell it, what cover it has or even it title, Porn is Porn. Keep it off steam, out of Exclusive books and back into a search.
CG violence is one thing and God never mentioned it but he did mention lust.

You heard it here first people, video game violence is OK because God never mentioned it.

Well this conversation is going

So its bad if its a book but ok if its a search or sold in seedy shops? Damn your religion is hypercritical.

You can't object to this type of content on a religious basis, surely ?

You forget that 50 Shades deals with sexual practices involving bondage/discipline, dominance/submission, sadism/masochism so some preacher somewhere rains down damnation on this book of Satan and the sheep follow blindly.

I'm not using religion is a my basis for my argument, I'm just pointing it out as an FYI. (Bad choice of words)
Using religion to support violence and enforce sexism and Attucks pornography is a questionable foundation.
We have exploited sex enough in other industries and its depressing how its now moving into our community.

O.o

This might blow your mind but people have been having sex for millions of year and I have it on good authority that it is the number 1 reason any of us exist.

I fail to see what Steam cockblocking this game and your "offence" at 50 Shades of Grey have to do with sex being exploited.

Whatever I'm out. You guys must be supper passionate about your porn and and seeing it plastered in every single avenue of life. I'll leave you to your ever expanding porn collections, which will soon include video games. Excuse me for having some morals which the porn addicts will continue to poke holes at.
Better yet why don't you all put your money where your mouth is and actually support this game which you all so desperately crave.

Im missing something here.... we are talking about the book shop selling the book right?

I understand the developers argument but I feel Steam has to pull out the pen and draw the line. Porn is porn and I feel it should never be sold at a market as free as Steam. Either start an age enforcement policy and ruin the fun for everyone or push it out.
BTW I'm still offended that they are now selling porn (50 shades of grey) at the Tuks campus bookstore as well as every 2nd book store.

Last time I checked there are no pictures in 50 shades. So why should it offend you? Im sure if you go to the Spar around the corner you can find a magazine that features some busty bimbo flaunting her jublies for all the world to see.

Its only popular because of the men making such a fuss about it on the net, it, like Twighlight, is just another book go to any exclusive books or CNA and there are entire sections filled to the brim with erotic and/or cheesy tween books.

As for Steam Redlighting this I think its the responsible thing to do. There is enough negative criticism of the gaming industry without its flagship digital distribution platform flaunting porn, lets not beat around the bush (excuse the pun) about this.
Im not sure how Steams age verification works but if anything my only criticism of steam would be that it doesn't do enough to stop under aged kids from buy/playing age inappropriate games.

We are poking holes at :p you taking offence at a book shop selling a book that you dont approve of, in this case the afore mentioned 50 shades of grey.

So far I dont think anybody has said "bad steam" for red lighting this "game".

Its easy to see why Steam took this decision from a representational stand point alone.

I have no issues with adult content and if you have read FHM or any of these types of media you're in the same class as and other adult realm in my view.

We have a very very skewed perspective of what is acceptable and what is not.

With respect to content control a steam account creation process and verification processes could be put in place, but to monitor this and enforce would have a massive compliance impact on steam not to mention the cost implications.

But form a pure business sense and 'taking the responsible' action steam did the right thing in my opinion, its not where the brand wants to be at this stage and that is completely acceptable until the consumers call for something else.

seems I missed a good thread. So because I have no problem with porn I also don't have morals.... interesting. For me it isn't so much a moral issue, but if someone wants access to something that offends someone else, they should still be entitled to have access to it. (As long as it's legal and when i last checked porn is legal..... i hope ... omg is it? i mean i hear the government now monitors us... sshhiiiieet!) Disclaimer: i haven't actually checked

Exactly what I wanted to say, just much better constructed.

"and if you have read FHM or any of these types of media you're in the same class as and other adult realm in my view."

If you shits bring religion into this gaming thread, I'll come over there and kick you in the nuts!!

Right now that we are back on topic lets talk about Porn in games. :p

The longer this conversation continues the less sense your responses make.
