Gamepad for PC

well flip this is probably quite pointless after the massive derailing but thanks to the first few reply's I went and got a wired 360 controller too.

um, thanks everyone:D

Wired is much lighter than wireless.
Another thing why the wired Xbox306 controller is better than most other wired controllers is the safety feature on the cord. In my case it already averted two potential disasters.

What safety feature is this?

The cable has a connection that easily comes loose so that if someone walks into it, it disconnects, rather that pulling your xbox or pc of the table.

Wireless doesn't even have a wire to trip over in the first place.

I got that, I was using controllers in general.
My point is why have a patch to a problem when you can get something minus the issue from the start.

Because your trading issues with issues.

Wireless is much heavier, bulky (feels like it has a huge cable attached...) with batteries that can go flat and you need to buy an additional receiver to make it work so it's also more expensive.

Wireless may be much more suited for a living room where there is a lots of traffic, where there's quite some distance from you and the TV.

But in front of a computer, without human traffic it become rather pointless and your stuck with only it's flaws.

Not when you turn your screen 90 degrees to take advantage of your bed. Plus those batteries last so can't say its been an issue ever and you can check the battery level prior to playing. Replacement took like 30s so I don't see the issue.

the extra reciever is an issue for me and I have forgotten to charge batteries enough times for it to be a pain in the ass. So Im hoping the wired one will save my ass.:D

Well either way you look at it most games are better via a game pad. Let us know how it goes when you get it.

The receiver comes with the controller, and oddly enough, the combo of controller + receiver is cheaper than the wireless controller on it's own! :wtf: The battery life is excellent as well, I've only replaced mine twice since owning it..

I ordered a wired xbox controller for R357.00 from kalahari it was the best price I could find. If there's a combo pack cheaper than that Im going to uppercut a cat.

Always check jump.co.za and pricecheck.co.za before buying ;) For a hundred odd more you could've gotten wireless, which is worth it IMO, but I'm sure you'll still be very, very pleased. It's a quality controller.

Xbox 360 PC Wireless Controller. It is the way and the light. I am rocking Batman Arkham City with it and I couldn't beat down
on the denizens of the compound in any other way.
