This is out on steam on the 11th of October. Having checked out a few of the trailers I must its looking very appealing. Is this on anyone's radar? I see there is a console version out as well but I have my doubts since its looks very strategic. I will check if there is a Demo on Xbox live and then try both versions to see which I prefer. Been ages since I've played a really tactical squad game, remind me alot of Commandos.

I've been waiting a really loooonnnnngggggg time for a proper Xcom.I read the preview in the nag magazine( yes I still buy it) all the new features sound good

Yeah been keeping my eye on this game for a while now. Played the demo on Steam and it's pretty much exactly what I want to this should be a purchase for me.

I also haven't played any of the earlier ones which is why I want to try out the steam Demo first.

Sad if your in SA I bought & downloaded all 3 S.T.A.L.K.E.R games off steam in a single afternoon.

I see the full game will need 20gb of disk space.

I played the old UFO & Xcom games to death, so I'm sceptic of this one. I'm sure new players will like it, but I don't think I'll be able to help comparing it to the old ones. So I'll hold off on buying this one until feedback & reviews start coming in.

I learned my lesson with Jagged Alliance: Back in Action. They ruined the memory of JA :/ But it's all right for new players I suppose.

It says 5.5 gigs, but I specifically dialled a separate connection to check this and it only downloaded about 1.5GB.

That just means if you pre-ordered when only the first item was unlocked you will still get items 2 and 3 if they also get unlocked.
