PC version of Black Ops 2 gets no mod and private server love

BLOPS 1 was epic, was looking forward to BLOPS 2 especially after i saw mp video but now they just killed it for me...:mad::cry:
 
I'm trying my best to look surprised.

I love how they only bring up this crap like a month before release. I think they only mentioned MW3's unranked dedicated servers like a few weeks before.
 
Does this mean that it will be the same way MW2/3's servers worked, or does it mean that there will still be dedicated servers, only not every Tom, Dick and Harry will be able to get one?
 
MW2 was P2P only, MW3 had P2P and dedicated servers but only P2P was ranked. BLOPS 2 seems like it will have ranked Dedicated servers but only hosted by Activision themselves, so if you wanted to play on them you would have to connect to international servers and deal with a 200ms+ ping.
 
In other words, Activision is fucking PC gamers over /again/ and their game is still going to sell like hotcakes.

I hope enough people complain about this for them to realise they are being idiotic and they won't be getting my money soon.

You mean just like people complained for MW2 and then again for MW3 and now for BLOPS2. Sure that'll definitely work this time.

Dude, Activision honestly doesn't care what you think. There's a bigger chance of the Titanic resurfacing and flying into outer space than this game selling poorly.

The tweet from the game dev CLEARLY STATES .. and i mean it was on the main wall and was pretty short saying that both league play and ranked servers will be on DEDICATED servers.

So your whole rage session here is rather silly as it will have the dedicated servers you are worrying about. It just wont be PRIVATELY OWNED SERVERS . So from what i read it looks like a dota 2 server vibe. You connect to the region you want join your game in the lobby and you will be placed in a treyarch server

Mod tools are for competitve play.

I play both cod 4 and mw 3 and i have not seen the majority of you in ANY game in ANY league?


The servers will be fully customizable so it will give you the options to remove perks and such like promod would've but with the server setting treyarch provides.


What you can rage about is weather the DATACENTER that will be hosting these servers will be in RSA

Cranky, i hope you're right.

Just sick a bit of promises being made ect. I'll keep my comments about the game then until after release. I was just too disappointed in MW3 and are very skeptical about Blops2

I have to agree with cranky on this.
The only concern I have is whether or not they will be hosting servers in SA.
If not then the game will suck for us, like monk said being forced to connect to their servers will see us with 200+ latency if there are no local servers.

I think that's the concern for a few of us... Also, what does this mean for Clans (not that I'm part of one:p)
