Crysis 3 Alpha discussion thread.

We do apologise for that, but it is an alpha after all. The alpha is 10% a taste for gamers, to wet their gamer appetites the other 90% is testing done for and by Crytek to improve the retail launch.

Better this way than getting another half broken game from launch.

JP'S - I played on a i7 and a ATI 6870 and i got smooth 40-60 fps on medium/low GFX with high res textures ON. My GFX are low on purpose due to me not caring what a game looks like.
 
Wats everyones average pings to the igame servers? im getting about 200ms(still pwned plenty of nubs this morning :P )
 
Are there any known problems with windows 8 and this game??? i understand its the alpha, Just wondering because ive had the game crash about 3 times this morning, All my drivers are up to date im within the specs for the game. :)
 
It is an alpha so most crashes will be due to that or certain hardware/software conflicts.

The ping is a fake positive. There is no region ping sites yet so the servers are triple pinging from the only ping site overseas. Ignore the pings at this point in time, your ping is normal as it should be the reporting is just not implemented correctly.

You will see the same thing on international servers, it reports your ping double or 2 times higher than it really is.

Think of how BC2 was at the start with the triple ping issue.

The my I5 oc'd to 4.6 ghz and radeon hd 7950 should fair well.
Did anyone manage to play it on full settings with acceptable fps?
 
Meh, had a bit of a game, was kinda fun then servers died and no-one was on. Even the game I played had more Euros than locals.

I have everything on Very High except Water and Particles, set those to High. That makes it buttery smooth. The moment I up either of those 2 settings my fps drops to what feels like 30 (I don't have fraps installed to confirm)

Am running i5 2500k at Stock with GTX 680. Haven't tried overclocking yet.

Ya I noticed the ping meant bugger all in the server list since I had the same ping to every server on the list regardless of their region or anything. I found all the iGame servers but like people have already noticed, no one is in them yet. The international servers are more than playable on a 4meg line though so I'll have to make due with that till the beginning issues are ironed out :)
 
DX11 has been around a long time, if you don't have a card that can do you chances are it wouldn't run the game even if it were DX9/10.

Love the multiplayer of crysis with the suit powers. Still dont see much difference between this and the 2nd one, still definitely going to get it for the single player campaign.
