Dead Space 3

I'm at the first regenerating Necromorph now. (Yeah I'm taking is slow..happens when you get the Mass Effect Trilogy on the same day)
So far, I'm enjoying it the least of all the DS games. It's not remotely scary, and I personally wish they stuck to the power nodes instead of the gun crafting/scavenging thing.

Are you kidding me? The gun crafting is the best thing about DS3. The sheer variety of weapons you can build goes far beyond anything you could get in the previous games. If it weren't for the gun crafting I wouldn't even be considering this game.

Well clearly I'm in the minority.

Not trying to start an argument, but what about it don't you like? So far most people I've spoken to seem to think it's the best part of the game, simply because it is such an upgrade from being given a few weapons and being told 'here, you can upgrade capacity damage and fire rate.' I mean, you can build a shotgun with a flamethrower underbarrel, or a pulse rifle with a sawblade underbarrel attachment, and then you can even modify those to be electrically charged or charged with toxic acid, etc.

DS1 and 2's weapon systems pale in comparison.

I liked the simplicity of the previous two weapon systems. You have those weapons and those weapons alone (which you can only upgrade) and you have to make them work for you. Look, I can totally understand why certain people enjoy it and who knows maybe I'll get into more as the game goes on.

So if I loved D1 and D2 I'm going to love D3? Is there any reason for me to carry on playing this on xbox? as in it takes note of previous saves from D2? or is it fine to move to PC?

As far as I know having DS2 saves and/or ME3 unlocks bonuses in the game. I know ME3 unlocks a suit, but I have no idea what DS2 unlocks.

If you have a DS2 save file you get a plasma cutter with better stats. The only other inherited bonus is the N7 suit.

So I bought this on PS3 on release date and played about 9 hours into the game. Then on Thursday I copied the Black Box PC version from a friend just to compare the two. Obviously the PC version looks (and plays) better and before I knew it I played for about 3 hours. Now (despite Origin) I want to buy the PC version as well. Does anybody perhaps know it the savegames from the Black Box version will work with the original? I only played about 3 hours so it's not the end of the world, but I would like to avoid restarting the game again when I buy it.

Should work just disable the cloud sync and put it where the save games would normally be.

Thanks dude, will try it if I decide to buy it. Is there any reason why I should buy the original as opposed to just playing the BB one (excluding the warm fuzzy feeling for playing an original, which I already got from buying it on PS3 :p)?

Bought the game, busy installing now. Hopefully Origin doesn't give me too much shit. Add me on Origin for some (eventual) co-op action. :D Myrdlok is the username ...

For anyone who's currently playing this game; be it console or PC.

What are the pros and cons thus far for you?

I'm curious to hear and see how it lives up to what DS and DS 2 provided us with. :)
