A 26-year-old man, reportedly Paralympian Oscar Pistorius, has been arrested for allegedly shooting a woman dead in a house in Silverlakes, Pretoria, Gauteng police said on Thursday.

"Paramedics declared the woman dead on the scene and police proceeded with their investigation. The woman sustained wounds to her head and the upper body," spokeswoman Lt-Col Katlego Mogale said.

Mogale would not confirm an earlier news report that Pistorius was the shooter.
 
Earlier reports suggested that he thought that she was an intruder. If this is the case, I feel quite sorry for the guy (and obviously his girlfriend, who lost her life)

Whatever the story, his life and career are over. It's quite a hard fall from grace.
 
i heard from a reliable source that they in fact had a falling out, so....

Some neighbours reported that there was a fight earlier in the night and the police were "surprised" by the allegation that he thought her to be an intruder.. And the man supposedly has quite a temper.
 
Sorry but I still dont understand why this is news........and at the same time, that is, not to quote, but brilliant.

Well there goes his 15 bar a year in sponsorship deals. i wonder which sponsor is going to jump ship first....
 
Something funny with this whole story,reports of previous disturbances and also 4 shots fired.I am a gun owner an there is no way I will shoot 4 shots at a so called "intruder" in my house.I think he might be in big sh$t here.
