Thanks dumb gamers who are always on about how much they love the 'hints' ...... this is the product, plenty games just coming out dumbed down from the get go. I was in a spin about this release, not at all now that I've read all that dumbed down shit.

On a side note - This helps me pirate shit with no conscience. I will pay for brilliance and innovation, this kak can jump.

I'll probably still buy it (albeit only when discounted), but I am just as disappointed as you. Thief 2 ranks among my personal top 10 games of all time, which is quite a feat seeing as I have very high standards for my games. To see them turn this into Thief: Dishonored Arkham Absolviction grinds my gears something fierce.

Well after reading through it.... I san safely say..... DOUBLE FUCK YOU EIDOS. So sick of these studio's Fucking every thing up.
 
The player is guided by navigation beacons, but are free to explore at will, so each area has multiple entrances and exits. Using an ability called Focus allows the player to spot interactive objects like climbable pipes and extinguishable light sources. The ability can be upgraded to increase its area of effect. Focus highlights attack points on enemies, and selecting the right one results in a shove which unbalances them, allowing the player a little longer to escape. Stringing attack points together buys even more time.

Focus can also slow time, allowing Garrett more chances to pickpocket. every drawer in the game can be opened and raided; fingerprints show which ones are most likely to hold loot. Money is spent to upgrade supplies and equipment at mission end. Garrett can also steal artefacts, which have no gameplay value but can decorate his den.

Alan Wake (PC) was actually pretty cool in that you could turn off the HUD. Way better atmosphere, way more fun, I had that feeling of exploring back.
 
The one major allure that thief had was that you had to find your own way out the shit, if it took 44 attempts, tough shit. Trial and error and exploration - all taken away, just like that. Thanks game dev, you twat.
